I don't get it either!! If the buyer is aware and happy to accept the shipping costs (and insurance presumably) and the seller (Emotiva) has packed correctly ( which they have otherwise they would not be able to ship nation wide in the US), then.....................what is the problem? Somebody hold their hand up and explain, with no BS about shipping returns policy blah blah as the seller accepts that surely, so cut to it and explain all. Please. The certification, including quarantine, for shipping within Australia is very different from that required for International freight. I presume that the US is the same. So just because it's OK in the US doesn't mean it's OK internationally. Just because it's OK for road freight in the US doesn't mean it's automatically OK for air freight internationally. Keeping in mind that you can always use a re-shipper. Cheers Gary I did not get any answer, but they will not get any order so it is no problem

Still it would be good to get the "official" Emotiva stand point, and more importantly, the reasoning behind any statement.
Thanks

May I ask why you can not ship the XPR5 to Europe? Thanks And the answer is..................? They did send them oversees at first, otherwise, I would not have one. But there were many problems with transporting this heavy beast. My box for example, arrived in an appalling state after it must have gotten whet somewhere. The amp came out unharmed, more luck than anything else. They also claim it's about the cost of the shipping. But that cannot be a valid reason, since you either put up with it or you don't, since it's always the buyer who pays for international shipping.

Yes, I know they did.......... But do they still and again, what is the official Emotiva response?? It's not a difficult question to answer........................surely??

The official response given to me yesterday is that the XPR's now being palletized making it costing "a fortune" to ship oversees. No actual fees were mentioned though.

Dammit, I purchased a UPA-700 with Bongo for the first time and the payment with VISA failed! It's the final stage, the card certification. Never had problems with that before. I don't know if I have to place the whole order again or pick in somewhere. Bummer!

I called the EU Bongo helpdesk today, which is in Brussels BTW, but only in English, go figure. The guy suggested me to try a different browser. I use Safari, hence I tried Firefox. It worked out.
Shipping was €126 ($167) which seems on the high side compared to earlier experiences. Besides duties(€110) there was also €8 added for insurance. That's a first.

I had trouble with ordering too. My credit card company thought Bongo was a fraudulent charge. But I could not be more impressed with how the process of international ordering could be. I ordered 2 products last weekend and I have them both today! Now that is fast shipping!

I have noticed that the Bongo prices have just had a massive price increase. Freight for an XPA-5 to down under will cost 360AUD. I checked the price a few months ago and it was 100AUD cheaper. Certainly takes the shine off your new purchase especially when you add local taxes. I think EMO will have to revisit their new shipper. EMO will have to realise that most, if not all, international clients will sacrifice shipping priority for price. Freight for the UPA-700 is 258AUD ($240US).

actually, I can't even listen to my new stealth 6 because I sold my stealth dc-1 in anticipation for the xmc-1. I thought I would have the xmc-1 by now.... doh! But I also bought the mini-x-a-100 so now I have surround sound again.

I'm not looking at buying an XPR but I would be interested in the reason too, weight can't be the reason, my PC13-Ultra weighs the same, and comes on a pallet, and it made it all the way to New Zealand undamaged, so did my speakers, and they are bigger, and heavier. Also as a side note, I've always wondered why the XPR-1, a product they call reference, doesn't have dual binding posts for bi-wiring like the XPA-1 does.

Got some serious speakers there! Hope you picked them up at a better price than your local $tealer.

Actually I thought the local dealer's price was pretty good, probably helped by a good exchange rate, they cost me $7500 NZ dollars, which is roughly $6300 US, I reckon they would have to be one of the best bang for buck speakers out there, really really nice sounding speakers, a big step up from my previous speakers, Paradigm Studio 100's and Jamo C809's, the mids and highs are really something else, highly recommended.

Great point about the dual binding posts, I'm looking at this now and will have to do bananas and spades for my speakers, not the best solution in my opinion .

XPA-5 delivery = $A360............hell, I'm sure mine was under $A200 back in FedEx days. Freight at close to 50% of the cost of the item is a big turn off. I might have to start arranging my own! Cheers Gary

Those freight prices are outrageous, if the XMC-1 freight is anything like that I won't be bothering.
