A bit of a spoiler here sorry I don't see spoiler tags and such I read some of his theories displayed were a bit exaggerated, such as the 1 first planet vs Gargantua, "time lapsing slower because of the gravity of the black hole. Gravity that intense to slow time down at that rate, would also crush any inhabitants so I've read. Not super clear about all the physics here but I sure enjoyed this film as it was fantastic escapism.. DJoel

Have to agree that some theaters are not really set up for this movie. I went to the Providence, RI IMAX, and the actors were unintelligible for most of the movie. I should have known this would be a bad evening, when it took them 30 Minutes to figure out how to start the movie!! Sound was horrible for most the movie. Something I did not expect at a IMAX theater.
Looking forward to the BluRay, and seeing the movie again in my home!! Probably enjoy it more at home.
That experience has ended my "special" night out to IMAX locally. Price + popcorn + parking fees make the BluRay a bargain!!

I can't say I enjoyed this movie. Loud it was but not to the point of unpleasantly loud. The bass was nice and tight. The Cimenatograpy was beautiful. One thing is that I felt Matthew Mcconaughey was always whispering. What the heck was up with that. You can't tell me it was my hearing either since I heard everyone else in the movie speaking distinctly. Second the movie was entirely to long...it did not warrant three hours. The ending was sloppy. I felt they just threw it in there to end the movie since there was no way out. I cannot say I would not watch it again but I won't put out the money to rent it. One last thing...I kept thinking of the parallels of Interstellar and 2001. Maybe it's me.

Blu-Ray arrived today.
No Dobly Atmos on the disk. DTS HD Master 5.1 soundtrack.
This may have better sound than the IMAX I saw!!
DVD included is in Dobly 5.1, and there is a IMAX 70MM film cell inside as well.
Have to see how good it is this evening.

Let us know how it sounds. I've always been underwhelmed with Nolan's movie audio on disc. Saw this film in the IMAX and was wondering how well the sound transferred to a home theater.

I actually hated it. Too long. The end seemed contrived like they were trying to wrap things up quickly but didn't know what to do. The sound and visuals were excellent however.

Saw it shortly after it came out. Liked it a lot, I am a science fiction junkie, movies and books, but what I probably liked the most was how the movie explored the personal relationships and how those where affected by the choices of the characters. My son and I can't wait to get the BD and watch it again. He is only 12, but following his father's footsteps .

Love the other ending that I read that Nolan's brother came up with. I was sold till the final 30 mins.

The Blu-Ray was actually a better experience at home rather than at the IMAX I went to!! I could actually HEAR the actors speak their lines... Matthew still mumbles.. but it better on BR than IMAX!!
Also, the movie was a bit more interesting without all the distractions I experienced, and the DTS 5.1 was sooooo much better. Gave a workout to the twin PSA 1500 subs, and actually had to turn them down a little, since the entire room was vibrating is some of the scenes.
Also, there is a 50 minute discussion of the Science in the movie, and its basis at Cal Tech physics team.
Movie is 168 minutes on BLU RAY, and a separate BR for the 3 hours of special effects features.

Happened to be at Costco this evening to get new tires for my car and got the Bluray. Nice surprise at check-out, a $4 instant rebate or something of that sort.
Got home too late to watch it, but tomorrow...

I bought it Tuesday morning before work and came home at lunch to watch the beginning. I saw it 3 times in IMAX last year and was really anxious to see it again, especially now that my HT is finished. Like restless said the dialogs are more intelligible on the BR than they were in IMAX but you still sometime really need to focus on what the characters say especially in the loud scenes. I actually like that it feels more real and I don't mind not understanding every word in the movie... The picture is gorgeous, deep really deep blacks in space. The IMAX scenes are very impressive, same feeling I had watching The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. The black hole scenes in space are simply astonishing. The soundtrack is awesome, the organ is beautiful and rich. The whole room shakes in several scenes in the movie, the bass goes low and is very strong, I actually lowered the sound a few times because I was really feeling bad for my neighbors... What a movie! Can't wait to watch it again

I just bought it today at BB. I think they might be getting out of the DVD/BR business. Most of the racks are empty and I would say the video section is less than half of what it was 3-4 years ago..

Have not seen it, wanted to see it at an IMAX theater but could not, any way I will get the blue ray and enjoy it, those of you not into astrophysics need not apply, Einstein predicted wormholes and every scientist ever since accepts them, where do we going through one? Let's go through one and find out, maybe that's how many alien races have come to visit us, yes the evidence is all over the planet, gods? They were not, primitive people did not know better....I can type forever for those blind, ignorant ones, but open your eyes.... PEACE!

I saw this great movie with many very good examples for us, is an stunning adventure of "entrepreneurship" but the love for the family is the KEY of everything! We can do everything for our children, wife and fathers..., nothing is impossible.

Primitive as we were, we weren't advancing, out of nowhere we build pyramids, and doing mummies, mummies? Who told us thousands of years ago that preserving the body would take us some where? And talking about pyramids, how the idea was spread around the planet without the means for it to go around? The builders were humans but the architects were not... Even the Bible talks about angels coming to earth and mating with our females, ANGELS??? Come on, aliens came and did it, making giants, and God did not like it, was it God that not like it? Or another type of aliens that have more dignity and killed the giants... Dinosaur? They had to go, why? We humans were taking over, they were wiped out not because the asteroid was random, THEY knew how to do it... Again, we were slow to evolve and THEY gave us a shot in the arm to jump start us... Don't get me wrong, I believe in God but HE is bigger than YOU think, even the Bible states, when Jesus comes back there will be new books open, maybe we will meet those aliens, our brothers, but only when we are ready, when we stop killing each other on this planet, speaking of planets, there are about 100 BILLIONS of them that can support life as we know it in our galaxy alone, and there are Billions of galaxies in the universe, life as we know it?? There life forms in our planet that don't need the sun, they thrive chemically, It does not end there, scientists talk about Multiple Universes, wow, GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK!
