Besides the "artistic" merits of the movie, which may or may not be liked by everyone, it seems like this BD might well be a pretty good stress test for our systems : www.avsforum.com/forum/113-subwoofers-bass-transducers/1984866-instersteller-bass-warning.htmlI can tell by experience that the first few minutes, with the movie going from quiet scenes of a few characters speaking interview-style (hence only dialogs from the center channel) to the multi-channel mayhem of the aircraft sounding like is breaking apart, scared the living daylight out of me, for fear that I was going to blow my speakers... And I just have a Fusion 8100 and full range speakers with no sub. If nothing else I had further confirmation of the dynamic capabilities of the 8100, the little AVR that could . I recall years ago an audio magazine routinely including a spectral analysis of the CDs they would review every month. However, I had never seen a similar analysis about a movie, although is no rocket science and I am sure Interstellar is not the first to be so evaluated.

Took me two seatings to get through it, but it was very good. I did not really like the ending though.....

Hmm sustained 20hz tones! Ooh... Yep, it seems to be not much the "depth" to which the movie descends, but the duration. Some of the comments in the AVS forum thread a really ilarious. I would have never thought people could come up with so many different colorful ways to describe the effect of low frequencies .
