It isn't clear from the newly posted manual if Dirac can run from a Mac laptop.
Does anyone know? I thought it was stated Dirac software supports OS X.
Thanks
Mel

So if you were a superhero the power you would want is to have X-Ray vision, then? That would not only let you see what you're getting for Christmas but help you get a job with airport security.

Thanks Mel It's listed within the "Features" section of the XMC-1 web page, so yes... it's supposed to be OS X compatible. I downloaded the trial from Dirac and it was OS X compatible, so this shouldn't be any different.

Oh ya, and see through the women's clothes. I like that, is this the surprise gift, a pair of bazooka gum x-ray glasses?

Updating the firmware is no different with this update than with any of the other three updates. Just put in on a USB stick and update like usual. As for DIRAC it's run on your computer connected to the same network that your XMC-1 is on. Once the sensitivity and output are set for the mic and channels, you take the nine measurements with the mic in the indicated positions and from there the filters are created and downloaded to the XMC-1. It really is this simple. Thanks, I assumed the process would be the same. I was just curious if this firmware update was any more time consuming or anything like that. I assumed it would be the same hassle free process of the other updates. geebo, if you don't mind sharing, I wouldn't mind a PM also stating what the secret gift is.

Has anyone found the 'Computer Compatibility' tab at the bottom of the 'References' tab stated in the Dirac LE manual? The reference to this is on page 7. It's supposed to be on the product page for the XMC-1, but I'll be Dam... , uh Darned if I can find it. Just want to check the basic requirements needed, for my old laptop.

'Taint there, as far as I can see. Manual says There is no References tab, maybe they mean Resources tab, but it's not there either. However, I found this on the Dirac website: link
