Mine arrive Wednesday ! Will let the group know my impressions.. Looking forward to the small footprint in my office .. Might try them out in the bedroom with the TV- I hardly watch tv at all but anything is better than TV speakers ugh! It's Wednesday! Let us know Hi ! Sorry I got busy at work and home late past 2 days .. I did get a chance to open them up and play a song via blutooth. Looks - really nice looking speakers - light but a good solid build. The finish and the top buttons are very nice. They are a great size for what I am going to use them for. Maybe even small enough even to take on trips when I travel. My iphone paired with them within seconds and they played perfect. Naturally, I cranked them all the way up. . zero distortion and they do pump out volume and actually push some air with the port . (I only had the energy to listen to one song so cant comment too much). They sound was very clean and no sense of struggling and they did even have a nice bit of bass which I was greatly surprised about. These will do perfect hooked to my PC or standalone for some kitchen or small room for music. Happy customer - and I will try to update once I set them up and have a go at them this weekend. For the price - I would take these over my Sonos. Actually that is what I will probably do this weekend - compare the Sonos to these. Sonos is way way heavier and I would not even think to travel with it. Cheers Joe

I'll chime in too. These speakers are really nice and have a big sound for such a small footprint. A lot of you will be surprised.

I took pics... Not the best lighting in the room at the time. Unfortunately I ended up celebrating my bday in Atlantic city so will have to wait till I get back to upload :-)
I did get to listen to them for a few hours. They get loud in a small room - so much so that my better half rushed over to tell me to turn it down...twice.
i have them toed in a little bit towards my head at sitting position and that helped to put a decent image sound in front center. Impressed with the highs and mid bass.. Although and I would not expect them to compare to a ribbon tweeter (which I was shocked on the goldenear show well they play). Overall considering the price , design and my intended use I would buy them twice over. I am not much of a reviewer so apologize if my impressions are lacking.
One thing I really like is the little angle on the from of the speakers and the hard grills - very nice looking! Oh and the Bluetooth works great- my fav feature . I paired my better half phone and she went into the basement and to the other side of house - only them did it start to break up a bit. So realistically works great.

Joe Hey man, the best review you can give is that you liked them and would buy them again. The professional reviewers just pad their articles to hit a certain number of words but in the end they either liked them or they didn't.

Can't wait to read more reviews! Considering buying them for my computer. They look nice & I like the grills for desktop use. If I buy them I'll review them.

Does anyone know why Emotiva chose to implement Bluetooth 2.0 for these when 4.0 is the current version?

Does anyone know why Emotiva chose to implement Bluetooth 2.0 for these when 4.0 is the current version? I don't know. My first reaction is cost, but that's just a wild guess. Anyone happen to know what advantages 4.0 offers over 2.0 for a relatively simple device like this?

When it comes to speakers, amplifiers and this stuff in general I am far from an expert. But I am 67 and always loved music and have heard some pretty good, and bad systems in my day. I have the 3b speakers for about a month and really impressed with their sound.
I had been looking for inexpensive good sounding speakers for my computer and Iphone for a while. I was considering the Emotiva 4S for a based on their great reviews for the price, $300. But I held back because I was looking to spend about $200 and really wanted bluetooth eventhough hooking up a plug wasn't a deal breaker. When the 3b came out in March I started looking for reviews and couldn't find any. Waited a few months and still none. So about a month ago figured based on the companies great reputation I'd pull the plug. (pun intended)
I liked the quality, feel and heft of the speakers right away. Was impressed that there was about 6 feet of line provided between the 2 speakers. The bluetooth connected quickly and easily. I thought the sound right away was pretty good, they have a live quality and were louder than I expected with detailed sound. But I wasn't impressed and expected to be wowed which I wasn't. More than good enough not to return.
But I didn't realize they had to be broken in. After about 10-15 hours of listening they sounded much better and were beginning to Wow me. Sounded great. Was actually surprised at how loud they can play for their size without distortion. One of the features I like, they have push button volume control on the top, typical of units in this class however when they go up to the limit the button beeps so you know where their peak is. I was still a little disappointed with the bass. I'm not a deep sounding bass guy and prefer a brighter detailed sound which they have. However after about 30 hours of listening over a couple of weeks, the bass started to come out more and I am really happy with my purchase.
Considering their relatively low price and sound quality, at least to my ears I am surprised how little "noise" there is on the internet about these speakers.

Just had a chance to really listen to these for a while. I have these in a largeish play room about 16x20 and these things flat out rock. Just streaming Pandora from my iPhone and it's just awesome. What an amazing value these little gems are!
