Wow! A 1500 watt multi-slot blade. Now that's what I would call a monoblock! You're speaking of 1500 watts @ 8 ohm, right!! XPR-1 's already do 1750 watts into 4 ohms!

Its strange how so many people have different views on these new amps. I think the new wave of products are the most interesting since I first found Emotiva. I thought the Mps-1 was so cool because it gave options that no one else had. Also I know we have to send it back to get the upgrade but that's where the new light weight will make it a lot less painful to the old wallet. Then you have the cool new Emersa line with the ICE power amps and the passive speakers and I just wish my tax return was going to be bigger! It is cool we all have different opinions I just thought I would share how awesome I think these new products will be and I can't wait to give them a listen.

Pure speculation would be to wonder if there could be a 4 x 75wpc blade module, or even a 750wpc triple wide blade, or a 1500 wpc 7 wide blade. Ahh, so there are different classifications of speculation on here. I see.....

Yes - We need reporting of user experiences! I think (like some other forums) when someone actually owns a product and wants to discuss it, THEY should open an 'Official XYZ discussion thread'. That would separate speculation and opinion from actual user/owner experience. Those who then want to read about or ask questions of an actual owner don't have to wade through pages of possibly unrelated information.

We don't need place holders just so people can start another thread.

If anyone thinks I've any other motive, I'll gladly delete this thread, no big deal starting a thread! WooPee!! I started a thread!! Please tell me what you think about the Gen 3 amp when you receive yours. Thanks, not sure I'll be hearing one in person anytime soon, but I am very curious.

I'm not suggesting you delete your thread, I'm suggesting a change whereby an early owner of a product start an 'Official' thread on it. That way the first post in the Official thread is about a real 'in-house' product. In this case there are now (at least) four threads about the XPA Gen 3, chronologically: emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/46205/xpa-gen-3-ampsemotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/46316/xpa-gen-3-sneak-peekemotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/46466/question-on-gen-3-ampsemotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/46530/got-xpa-gen-3Personally, I think the thread started by Big Dan was a perfect place for more 'pre-sales' discussion and questions (but this one was already going), then an 'Official' thread could be started when someone received a product. It's just a suggestion and not a new idea, I don't expect everyone will like it.

I get it, on the thread I started, a brand new owner posted his first post, I dont think he could have shared or started a thread untill he had some posts previously, but im not sure if thats a rule or not. I know some sights have that rule, I dont recall if this one does. Its a good idea but sometimes you may have to prod someone to share ,,,,,,,you know,,,,,like me! Im so shy and bashful!!

Caveat: those looking for a Gen 2 amp owner to compare the Gen 3, may want to skip the following review.
I received a Gen 3 three channel amp a week ago and I can report it is a vast improvement to a temporary Crown XLS 1502 300 watt/channel Class D amp it replaced. The details of instruments are more apparent at lower volumes than with the Crown. And it only gets better when the volume is turned up! The separation of instruments and vocals is amazing.
Listened to various genres including Classical, Jazz, Blues, Folk, and some Rock, much of it on hi-rez SACDs, Dvd-Audio, and Blu-ray music. The Gen 3 amp had plenty to give to the GoldenEar Triton Ones and the SuperCenter XXL that it powers. A fresh vinyl 200 gram LP of Rush's Moving Pictures rocked the house last night when played with the ClearAudio Concept turntable. Then switched to playing the new 2016 release of the un-mastered SACD of Patricia Barber's Cafe Blue where you can hear the analog reverb chambers used on this fantastic recording.
As I complete my upgrade of surrounds and rears with GoldenEar speakers, I will definitely be getting the Gen 3 four channel amp to power those.

Am I hearing things? A single chassis amp able to drive 14 channels? "14 channel distributed audio" Big Dans statement, does this mean 14 speakers driven? Listen at about 14:30 of the video youtu.be/USt8SgHAQ0E
