I couldn't agree more. Many, many thanks for your pics and writeup.
(I was kidding about the orientation - it's easy for the reader to flip if needed)

Any sightings or talk of a strictly KILLER 2-channel Pre with a fantastic phono section? Just what are you looking for? The PT-100 is a Big Ego DAC, with a XPS-1 phono stage, several types of digital interfaces, and two additional analog inputs, all with bass management and Emotivas fantastic digitally controlled analog volume control. Maybe it has some type of room correction, but we won't know whether or not it does until after it hits the product page. (Or one of the designers speak up).

A Pre that is one step up from the XSP-1 but withOUT the HT stuff.

So what's the big differences from the basX and emersa line? It looks like the basX is 25 watts less then emersa but what else is different?

Well.... The Emersa line uses B&O ICEpower modules (Class D amps and SMPS); the BasX are Class A/B amps and linear transformer power supplies. The Emersa line are lighter and more compact, and more "contemporary"; the BasX are more like a new version of the UPA line. And, yes, the Emersa line products have more cool features, and the BasX line are more... err... basic (but they do sound real nice). So what's the big differences from the basX and emersa line? It looks like the basX is 25 watts less then emersa but what else is different?

KeithLCan you elaborate on the new BasX processor? I see it has EmoQ. Is it a Cirrus-based machine or TI-based? Thanks! Mark

some thoughts……. dan told the story about some reporterette from 'absolute sound' interviewing him as he showed her the xmc-1 and some other gear. he gave her the price $2499 and she writes down $24, 990. and the same x10 mistake with another piece. when he corrects her as to the real price, her comment is that oh, no this equipment is too cheap for our readers and left. Dan's comment….." that's whats wrong with high end audio." I AGREE….. tchaik. If I was an Emotiva employee and wanted to have a little fun, I wouldn't have corrected the writer for Absolute Sound. I'd let them do a glowing write up about how truly wonderful the equipment sounded.. ya know - all the food-related analogies you could possible want. After publication buy an ad in the next issue correcting the reported price. Best part is, I bet the advertising department wouldn't even catch it just the check for the ad. But that's just me. Hi guys! Thought I'd chime in here because there's more to The Absolute Sound story. We are huge fans and supporters of the Absolute Sound, in fact, 3 writers from the publication came by. They cover budget audio too, and I think at least one of the writers is going to do an Emotiva Axpona follow-up. The writer that Dan spoke to was covering the more expensive beat for the show, but that does not mean that Emotiva is too cheap for TAS readers. On the contrary, we are lining up reviews as we speak.
