I think this poll thread says something also. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/46563/habits-systems-poll27 people aren't interested in height channels at all, and it appears like a clear win. But, if you add the 3 answers for interested together, it totals 32 people. So 54% are interested in some fashion. Far from D.O.A. as other naysayers have claimed. The biggest surprise for me is the sheer number of people who have separate dedicated systems for 2 channel and theater. That's awesome! I wish I could call myself one of you. But if I were, I would most certainly want height channels in a dedicated theater room. Separate rooms to me means the best / most you can afford.

Lol. What happened to me being ostracized cause saying although great the xmc1 wasn't compete due to lack of atmos. Everyone said blah blah blah it's fine how it is Now everyone is rejoicing now that dan et al realized it was a smart business move to include it Now I am happy. And others are as well. And I'm excited for Emo. And glad they smartened up. It's gonna be a great great product! But let's not forget too long ago how people looked down their nose at me and other for saying this needed to be done.

I would imagine that sales of the XMC are slowly going the wrong way and they are a very long way off on the XMR-1.

For all the "happy" members posting here, some seem to still be grousing at the same time and throwing a lot of shade. I could never understand that state of mind.

But let's not forget too long ago how people looked down their nose at me and other for saying this needed to be done. It was big dan who said they weren't going to do the Atmos upgrade. And yes while it's a smart move, a smarter move would have been to keep the UFL and forget this Theta like upgrade philosophy. As Keith alluded to, the case of the XMC-1 doesn't cost thousands of dollars. By going about this method they pigeon-holed themselves into being stuck with the existing architecture. I like the upgrade but I would have like it better if they would have started working on the "XMC-2" soon after XMC-1 was released. I'm also still not sure how many people will upgrade and if this will lead to two versions of the XMC-1. One with Atmos and one without. I'd prefer if they released the Atmos version as XMC-2 and give the XMC-1 owners the "upgrade path" to the XMC-2. This type of branding allows Emotiva to automatically charge more for the XMC-2 and justifies the XMC-1 owners to upgrade to the XMC-2 or buy the XMC-2 with the UFL and either sell the XMC-1 or repurpose it. The market isn't going to support the RMC-1...too many snobs in the high end community. When Emotiva had the XPR it made sense...but no longer.

The lounge is awesome at speculation. If you need some speculation on some topic, the lounge has dozens of full time members at your service!
Emotiva did away with the XPR amps therefore they can't possibly ever make a replacement that would pair well with a new high end processor. Nay that. They simply won't replace the XPR lineup with anything. Ever.
What?! So Emotiva doesn't have any current amps that people speculate would have to have in order to buy a processor that's not been released and has no ETA. That makes zero sense.
I speculate gas prices will be 937484 dollars in the year 3220

This forum never ceases to amaze me, and not in a good way.
Emotiva brings to market a Preamp/Processor that was conceived from the beginning as a 7.2 channel unit, and that bye near universal acclaim is on par with, if not sonically superior to, Processors that are 2 and 3 times as costly. Now with new immersive surround formats (which were NEVER in mind when it was designed) coming to the fore, they come up with a way to meet the desires of the customer base that wants these new formats. Not by offering a brand new processor (to the tune of another $2500.00 plus purchase) for these customers to buy, but by offering the means for those interested customers to upgrade the processor they have already purchased on a cost plus basis.
The response to this news? I haven't bothered to count them, but it seems that at least half the responses on this board are little more than elaborate bitching.
With the vast majority of other manufacturers out there that only care about their customers when they are cashing the check, I just don't get it.

No need to sit here and worry needlessly. But, Dan...what else would some do? Personally, as a Procter & Gamble employee, I've been concerned that your company restrooms may not include the latest version of Charmin. It is excellent. Soft, yet strong, an excellent value, and made in the most eco-friendly ways possible. I've also been concerned that your employees may not be using Crest, Oil of Olay. And, I was recently alerted that P&G noticed our shipments of Gillette razors to Franklin did go down when you grew a beard a while back. I think I will start a poll on what type of TP the Emotiva employees should use. This is a vital question and use of a proper TP is vital to the productivity of your employees, and we're all anxiously awaiting even more new stuff. Sincerely, Mark
