Can't recommend a Squeezebox touch any longer to a new user at this point. It is long unsupported by logitech. Their android app no longer works, it is time for new users to move on. Several good options out there with the exception of the cool touch screen. True. However, there is an excellent third party Android app available that works very well. >>linky<<. The same person offers an even better app for WebOS. I have an HP tablet that is dual bootable in WebOS or Android. I can control 3 zones in my home easily.

I was wondering why there isn't a Base-X monoblock amp? Seems we need something to replace the old UPA-1 and XPA-100.

i was wondering why there is no mention of voltage ouput or impedance from the pt-100, one of the most important specs on any pre/pro. at first glance xmc-1 is the only one that lists it normally. i would expect 5-600ohm or so, but if example 1V is maximum, then careful consideration of gain structure is needed.

I am not in the market for anything relating to 2channel or HT but I am happy to see Emotiva's progression with new products coming out in the summer and fall.

I just noticed that the Base-X A500 and A700 are now advertised on the website as 110 watts/channel. If I am not mistaken they were 80 watts/channel a few days ago. when you look at the specs under each you see that the new power rating is for 2 channels driven not for all channel driven. When did Emotiva start being like most others and using 2-Channel driven ratings?

When did Emotiva start being like most others and using 2-Channel driven ratings? Lots of discussion in the other BasX thread. The XPA-7 also had both 2 channel and 7 channel ratings, I based some of my decision to buy the XPA-7 due to its ability to deliver over 500 WPC in two channel – as I use it when listening to a stereo source. I think both ratings are useful and as long as they're still giving the 'all channels driven' rating, they're doing nothing devious, and actually being more helpful. From the A-700 Specs Page: Power Output (two channels driven) 110 watts RMS per channel; 20 Hz - 20 kHz; THD < 0.1%; into 8 Ohms 210 watts RMS per channel; 1 kHz; THD < 1%; into 4 Ohms Power Output (all channels driven) 80 watts RMS per channel; 20 Hz - 20 kHz; THD < 0.1%; into 8 Ohms

Agreed. But I was talking about a control mechanism for the player (i.e. an app for a mobile device). I too am interested in an Emotiva offering in this space.

I have no problem with giving both 2-CH and all Channel power ratings and think listing both is useful. My minor gripe is that the first page that comes up when the Emotiva product page is opened now only says 110 watts per channel for the A-500 and A-700. Most of us are used to Emotiva listing the all channel driven specs. If they had always done as most other manufacturers do and listed 2-channel specs then we would know these were for 2-channel specs, but now it could be misleading. In fact I believe that the all channel specs were listed last week.

What is the status of the IA-100 tuner/amplifier unit? When will they be available for order/delivery? Are the specifications finalized? I did not see them mentioned in the BasX product offerings on the web site with the other units.

What does it cost to bring a audio product like the BasX gear to market ? 1 million ? 6 million ? Who here knows ?

Hi guys good afternoon Guys I am interested in purchasing Emotiva BasX 300 - but can you answer the following questions - What is the size of the Transformer, and the capacitance of BasX 300?
- Can we pay extra and get the 5 year warranty?
- I see that the Amp is Listed at 150W (both channels driven) - is this true @ 20Hz, 1Khz, and 20Khz?
I am also looking at the BasX PT-100 - and have the following questions - What is the DAC chip that is being used?
- Line out voltage? 2v for RCA?
- Sub out connector - does it have a crossover setting or it sends the full signal and we have to use the subwoofer filter?
Thank you Haris

I can confirm that the PT-100 uses the AD1955 chip. The same chip from the XDA-2 DC-1 DACs. The transformer size on the 300 is 380Va and the capacitance is 40,000 uF. PT-100 full range sub out and yes on the 2V line out. I'll try to get more info for you on the other stuff. Plus I'm working to get the AP data together to post on the site.

If not I'll continue to wait patiently as I've been looking for a headphone amp going on 8 months now and I know this will more than fulfill my needs.

My speaker load / wattage is 25w-120w @ 8ohms, Do you think going with a transformer of 380Va will hold anything back? Thank you Emotiva for offering a great deal, I was going to pick up a Parasound Integrated Halo (2.5k USD) - but now I am planning to pick up PT-100 + A300, and an A100 - all for about 1k USD

Imo the Parasound A23 is more similar to an XPA-2's level.

Thank you I appreciate it. I was looking at several options (confused lol) but now I know what will fit my needs better. I own parasound / yamaha gear, and really happy with it. Emotiva will help me with my 2.1 computer setup Thank you
