Now that I've had 24 hours to catch up on sleep, I'd like to again give Dan & Cathy Laufman a big thank you!!! The Laufmans were very gracious, warm, and quite generous(especially with their time)!!! They definitely have chosen a first class staff and it shows. I personally would like to thank all the staff, Dann G., Lonnie, Chris & Chris(yes there are 2 of them), Nick, Beth, Sarah and Ty, as well as Chef Dave for a wonderful food spread and Mike(as Big Dan would put it, the man behind the curtain on the UMC-1 project). These people work together seemlessly and when all is said and done, the end user of these products, especially the EmoFest attendees, will know just how much time, energy, brain power, desire & love was put into these projects as well as future products. I can't say enough about the Emotiva team, and those of you that attended know exactly what I mean. A few shout outs go to: 1. Cathy for running EmoFest, the amount of love she put into both the "Meet & Greet" and the Grand event on Sunday had to be time consuming from conception. She definitely knows how to run Emotiva(hope Big Dan doesn't take offense to that because that really is a compliment to his taste)!!! 2. Big Dan, so much to say here, but THANK YOU for bringing to life your concept idea of EMOTIVA!!! You are definitely one classy gentleman!!! 3. Lonnie, this guy is a wealth of knowledge. He personally took a few of us into his office to show us the inner working of the ERS-112's GUI, as well as giving his UMC-1 lecture course. Answered everything thrown at him and added way more, some of which I must say went over my head!!! ;D Dan couldn't have chosen a better guy to run the technical side of Emotiva. Glad you're on Emotiva's Team is all I have to say. 4. Dann G., This guy plays so many roles that everytime I saw him he had a different hat on. ;D On a serious note, I now why he is the website and EmotivaForum's web master. His office is caddy-corner to Dan's & Lonnie's office, I'm pretty sure they lean heavily on him for his computer prowess. His evening duties, well to say the least he know's how to have a good time. Along side his trusty mates Doug, Judd & MajorLoser partying moves to the next level! ;D 5. Beth, Sarah, Chris, Chris, Nick & Ty: Tireless is the best word to describe these fine young ladies and gentlemen. Dan & Cathy chose this cast well. This crew didn't stop the whole two days, and I'm sure well before and definitely after cleaning up after us!!! ;D 6. lastly, I'd like to say putting the names & faces together was great. Doug, Steve, Judd, Majorloser & wife, Hemster, RoadRunner, JimBailey, Tom, Vince, Derek & his family(I still think you paid Dan off for the kids drawing) ;D, and all the other forum members I met(I'm sure I left several of you out there were just so many of you), lets do it again next year and have more of the EmotivaLounge family join us. Yeah, what ^ he said! ;D Very nicely put LC. I agree wholeheartedly. Was great to meet so many loungers. I'll save some internet bandwidth and just say.. Wow! Thanks Emotiva. I'll be back next year! Y'all are a class act.

Ditto on the amazing staff at Emotiva and the great partnership that they have built with their customers. I am still a newbie on the forums so it was great to put names with faces. In as much as each Emotiva staff member were so very helpful, each and every Emotiva customer and forum member that I met were also so very helpful. Thanks especially to Hemster and LCSeminole for sharing the ride over on the hotel shuttle and time hanging out and to Tom (tbro49) for the ride over for the meet & greet and time geeking out on our systems from back in the 70's and 80's to now.

Hey pdaddy - sorry I didn't get the chance to meet your wife. As she arrived, I was on the phone to a friend I had been trying to reach all day...and making sure whether he wanted me to get him and XPA-2 or not. Too bad he's short of cash...he would love one!

pdaddy, thanks to you and LCSeminole for navigating to the Emo offices from the hotel as the shuttle driver was like me - directionally challenged! So, how do you like the 6.2s? Keep thinking I should have piled on more debt and picked up a pair.

Yeah, it definitely was great meeting you as well. You definitely need to let us know how the 6.2's work out. I almost pulled out my AMEX card a few times but reminded myself I really didn't need them and that I REALLY need the ERS-112 sub in a few months, as well as the XMC-1 when it follows the UMC-1. ;D

I took some video of Dann G. demonstrating the error correction prowess of the ERC-1 at Emofest and am hoping to have it posted shortly! Simply amazing.... I did not get a close up of the disc, but I and all in attendance can testify as to the condition of the CD. Yeah, it was pretty bad.... www.flickr.com/photos/dwayland/3904656229/Sorry everybody, the vid worked for a bit, but now it just stops 5 sec. in. :-(

KleinMJ-No worries. We'll catch up next year. It was great to meet your family. Your daughter was hilarious... you know, the one who said she was the weirdest ever.
LCSeminole and Hemster-I have not had a chance to setup the 6.2s yet. Targeting that for this weekend. It will be an interesting match against my Maggies (MMG).

Anybody remember that drums demo CD DanL was playing in the listening room? Was that a Sheffield Labs disc? I want to find out the name so I can buy it!

Got my 6.2's hooked up in place of the ERM-1's last night. Sound great! Didn't listen long, but was just as happy with the sound as I was at Emofest. My stands seem a litle too small now, so I may have to enlarge them.
Will do more listening this weekend and report back!

Doug917 (or anyone else who knows) -Let me what stands you go with. I will need stands for my 2 6.2's that I picked up at Emofest. I'll need someone roughly at ear level when seated.

I'm using these for my Status Acoustic Decimos: www.racksandstands.com/VTI-RF-VI1049.htmlI'd probably go with the 29" stands for the 6.2's to get them at seated head level. My Decimos weigh about 30 lbs each. These stands are all metal and are quite sturdy. You can even fill the legs if needed.

Thanks for that link..I've been looking around for stands for the 6.2's I picked up at emofest as well. That one looks perfect for the job..and the 29" inch height is perfect for them.
