It was mentioned on another site that the Marantz 8805 was going to be 2.0a. that had to be a typo.

Happy Día de los Muertos. Wouldn't it be a wonderful celebration of this day to get an update on the RMC-1 status? :-) [[ And no, that's not a snarky commentary on the RMC-1 being "dead" — it's just an excuse to ask ... ]] Casey

Since E-ARC will be backwards compatible, does that also mean that it will work universally no matter the mix of components? Most likely not. It's too bad that this HDMI feature hasn't consistently worked in the past, as it's theoretically a great idea.

It would be great to get an update of some kind. I am going crazy in Ohio. Weather is turning bad. Getting depressed. Need something to lift my spirits. Need a new toy. And as I write this I am thinking of a good Christmas list. 1. Emotiva RMC1 2. Emotiva RMC1 3. Paradigm Persona 3f If you guys get one chance to listen to these speakers, do it. But leave your wallet at home. Trust me on this.

Something tells me that you might as well be also adding some new amplification because, hey, why not? Casey

I just added an Apple TV 4K to my system and use ARC back to the Oppo UDP-205. Lip-sync never seems quite right. I have an HDFury Vertex on order but it is a bit of overkill for this problem. - Rich

Indeed ; will depend on how the RMC1 HDMI receiver chip has been programmed [ its quite a new revision so fingers x'ed ] . Apart from delivering lossless instead of lossy from your apps etc its supposed to be more stable ;we'll see

In a few more days, we’ll have a new thread: RMC-1 coming in 2018??
Good times ahead, I hope!
