The good news is that at least we now have the option of fixing things with firmware updates. Unfortunately there is only an illusion of it as the history of XMC-1 shows. And those things are not just interoperability issues with some h/w. I've been very happy with Emotiva products. In particular, I've had almost no problems with my DMC-1 preprocessor; though I hear that many of Emotiva's other processors may have experienced of teething pains. What the heck, I feel lucky. I'll buy the RMC-1 when it comes out and I'll be happy to provide informative feedback on any issues I run into. Casey

What a bunch of downers! Emotiva is the only company I know which is trying to provide state of the art products at affordable prices. It's tough because they are small, but they keep doing it and keep getting better at it. Many of us would like to have Trinnovs or Datasats, but they are beyond financial reach and those companies are happy about that. So, thanks to Big Dan; he is making it possible for us to have sophisticated electronics so we don't have to take a back seat to the millionaire crowd. Now, there are the fans who want everything to be tailored to exactly to what they want and anything more than that is superfluous and unnecessary for anybody else to have. Come on, Emotiva has three tiers of products either available now or in the near future to satisfy all. Please do not denigrate the uppermost tier because " you don't need all that stuff". Many of us do want the latest "stuff" and more. Bring on the RMC-1, Emotiva!

Relax. This is the real world - you're going to get a bunch of idiots, a bunch of good, and the rest in-between. This is not correctable, it's how people are.

Who else is giving 3 sub channels independently equalized? How much more flexibility do you want? Remember there is still only one LFE channel of information to feed them all!

There is only one LFE channel - but multiple outputs will allow DIRAC to EQ them independently I assume. I'll make use of it because I have a bunch of subs. I'm excited about that - being able to leverage DIRAC for multi-sub placement has lots of potential. I'm sure as part of that, even without DIRAC, you'll get a channel delay. How cool is that? It saves the trouble of having to use a MiniDSP or some other DSP for delay adjustments.

Eq'ing 3 subs individually is a terrible idea

So put all three subs on the same sub output!

So put all three subs on the same sub output! thats how the XMC-1 was/is...wish they would figure it out where they are summed together (and use the individual outputs to setup delay) so you wouldnt need an external device to do so....but...

Personally I'm already writing to Santa for 2017, if it's here earlier great, if not, oh well... Regardless, my 40% of card is in a secure, undisclosed location, and when it's available I'll have one.

AVS trolls. I thought we got rid of those. Trolls are like roaches, you can get them mostly under control but it is just about impossible to 100% eliminate them.

All I ask is this: if you are listening, Emotiva: At a predicted price point that is almost twice what I paid for my Anthem AVM 60, the RMC-1 had better be completely bullet proof and have more to set it apart than just Dirac VS ARC. ARC is quite amazing, by the way...

ARC is quite amazing, by the way... Gear seems to fail even in todays world. Look at Samsung. Bullet proof was very important in the Dark ages. David is spot on asking for completely bullet proof. That should be a goal of statement audio gear. It should hold up.
