Thanks for the update, I've been checking in daily hoping to see a new beta firmware. I've been getting audio dropouts on some UHD blu-ray movies, so hopefully this beta has addressed these. It specifically mentions the dropouts in the troublesome triple layer UHD of Deepwater Horizon.

Next, I have to check the Star Trek: Beyond movie.

Well, Star Trek: Beyond, played flawlessly for me. Looks like they may have gotten a few more things fixed with this release. My update went without a hitch and watched Arrival which played perfectly. You have a 1080 TV right? Have you tried the HDR - SDR conversion with the new firmware?

I was trying the different settings from 50 to 1600 nits this morning, and didn't see any difference. So then I thought maybe if I go directly from 50 to 1600 nits I'd see a difference but no changes to these eyes. Maybe I'm not doing something right? I do have all my video output settings on "Auto".

Do you have to HDR to Forced? Now that my brain is actually working today, I realized that I was trying to change the NIT's value without actually having a UHD blu-ray movie in. Duhhhhhh! LOL Yes it does work, I just haven't found out what the "Conversion Target Luminance" is to match my TV. The default is 300.

Personally when I play the same movie off a regular blu-ray and compare it to the UHD blu-ray copy, to these eyes if there is a difference I'm not seeing it. I'm more than sure there will be a difference once I have a 4K HDR/Dolby Vision capable flat panel, and I very much so look forward to that time when I do.

Hi, I'm interested in this player. Could you please tell me if it can stream a Blu ray perfect copy, bdmv folder, from a PC or NAS from your local network? Thanks!

I can play BDs from a hard drive that I connect to the Oppo USB 3.0 port and they play fine. I also stream hi res Flac files from an NAS. Using jRiver Media Center I can also push the to Oppo. Never tried streaming a BD though.

If that's the case it's great and I guess it should work equally well from your NAS via ethernet. ;-)

I just bought the UDP-203 mostly so I can start buying 4K BluRays while waiting for a 80"-class TV/Monitor to replace my Pioneer Kuro KRP-600M. I figure it'll probably be 3+ years for that, but I want to be able to start getting the upgraded media.
One thing I noticed about it that's interesting: while it doesn't have the plethora of "apps" for things like NetFlix, etc., it does have a Squeeze Server Endpoint! It found my local Squeeze Server and listed it under its "Network" tab. So I'm guessing that the UDP-203 can be used for listening to my very large FLAC collection. Interesting because this isn't advertised at all on their web page or their manual. They just say:
And there is mention of DLNA. I wonder what other features are hiding away there? Perhaps a Roon Endpoint?

Well, technically it is a "Roon Endpoint" because the Roon Server knows how to use Squeeze Clients as Roon Endpoints. This is one of the things they did in order to start building market share. If they'd had to wait till lots of actual Roon Protocol Endpoints were available, Roon might never have gone anywhere (and it's still a question as to whether it'll make it, but they're making good progress it seems). So you can use Roon with any Squeeze Box ... and now apparently the Oppo UDP-203, though I haven't tested that because I don't [yet] use Roon. But it should work.
