Is it already possible to order the 600w blades for the XPA-G3? Looks like it takes 2 places instead of 1. thats a bit logical because the rail supports max. 300w per blade. Into an XPA-Gen3 goes a maximum of 7 blades. wich means 4 are in use when you got a stereo (2x 600w). At least there are 3 slots left where you can put in the dual ones (150w 8 ohms) 3x2=6 channels for the surrounds. more then enough power for surround speakers. Attachments:

You need to research a little more, if you use the mono blades in a frame you can't use any other types of blade. So you can only have 3 mono blades in a frame, it will also have an upgraded power supply. The single and stereo blades you can mix and match.

Read Dan's post below from November 2016, it will answer your question on the power supply. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I need to make a comment here... We will not be able to accommodate double-wides in the same chassis with the normal or stereo blades. Initially we thought this would be possible, but extensive testing has forced us to make some changes. We needed to modify the rail voltages and the current capability of the SMPS in order to achieve the desired performance and durability needed for the double-wides. What this means is that you are limited to 1, 2, or 3 double wides in the XPA G3 chassis. You can't mix them with the other modules. A special super-duper power supply module will be fitted to these models. All other cosmetics are identical in appearance, as it is the same casing as the regular G3 XPA's. If you already own a G3 XPA-2 or 3 and you want to change out the blades to make it into a 2 or 3 channel double-wide, we'll swap out the SMPS too as a courtesy. Let the firestorm begin....

That's too bad. This would have been a great solution to have two balanced double wides for the fronts and the rest regular single chassis in a one box solution.

What you seeing in that picture are the already extant "single-wide single-amplifier blades" and the new "single-wide dual-amplifier blades" (or whatever they're calling them). Each of these fits in a single slot of the seven-slot chasis. These blades you can mix and match.
The new "double-wide single-amplifier blade" occupy two slots of a seven-slot chasis. Additionally, they require a different Swithing Mode Power Supply in that chasis in order to support their needs. So you can't mix these double-wide blades with the other blades.

Casey Casey, I think that is three "Double Wide's" that can work in the new Gen 3 chassis. That would make for a great front three channels for big speakers. You can't currently put more than that in one chassis but who knows that may change in the future. Always cool to me how everyone is putting more power into amps and there gear and doing it for what was prices that were impossible for the average Joe (I like Joe ). What is next ?

There is plenty of power in those single wide 300 watt mono modules to satisfy most of the systems out there. There are those that have an XPR-1 driving one center channel but to think you can have 600 watts per channel for the fronts and center in one box for under $2500 is one killer system.

Yes, I have to say that the idea of a XPA Gen3 with three Double-Wide Fully Balanced/Differential mono blocks for my Left/Center/Right Legacies is ... "interesting". Paired with either the RMC-1 or hinted at XMC-2 this would give you a Fully Balanced/Differential path all the way out from the DACs to the Speaker Terminals ...
I wonder how the "sound" of the new XPA Gen3 Double-Wides would compare to my current MPS-1?

I wonder how the "sound" of the new XPA Gen3 Double-Wides would compare to my current MPS-1? Casey Dan has said that they have improved the sound with each new generation. They say they have made these new amps super quiet and responsive to demand. Your MPS-1 should sound great and perform above lesser amps that someone would easily benefit from the new XPA- Gen 3. I bet it would be a hard call to say if the older MPS will hang with the new XPA unless you test it out. Someone at Emotiva would probably be able to give you a good opinion on the subject.

Yeah, probably the new XPA Gen3 Double-Wide blades would be a nice "present" for my Legacies ... :-) Each of them have two 12" woofers, so have a lot of Bass Control would be a big feature ... :-)
Yes, I'll probably get "stupid" and buy the XPA-3 Gen3 Double-Wides and the RMC-1. Silly Wabbit ... :-)

This guy said next month. He just did not have a beard when he said it. I heard he is growing his beard back so maybe he is waiting on that so you know who he is.
