I thought that DSD over PCM (DoP) was fairly limited in its DSD support in that it only works for DSDx1 (AKA DSD64).

will Dirac Live be native 24/96 (or even 24/192) or will any Dirac processed sound be down sampled to 24/48 like it currently is?) Better than some dearer Mark

Looks like the new v3 HDMI 2.0B board is close to be released. Today the XMC-1 HDMI 1.4 disappeared from the website and the XMC-1 at full price ($2499) now includes the v3 HDMI 2.0B HDMI Board upgrade in its price "Price includes upgrade to new V3 HDMI 2.0B board assembly. This new board allows HDMI 2.0B with HDCP 2.2 on all inputs and outputs. Purchase price includes free factory upgrade or self install kit at no charge"

When I bugged them about it at AXPONA, I was told they'd probably release them a month or so after the RMC-1 comes out this summer.

I got an email back from Emotiva and the V3 HDMI board is going to be available by July. So at this point I'm going to wait until July to place my order!!

Since shipping is included in the V3 HDMI board, will there be a discount if you do it yourself? It does not appear so.

Wasn´t the HDMI board to be $349, not $499?

Wasn´t the HDMI board to be $349, not $499? They never said. I figured it would be more than the V2 board. I'm going to get it anyway, I just would like to do it myself if it isn't too difficult. It would also be nice to have a discount on shipping. Doing it yourself would save the hassle of sending it in and waiting.

Wasn´t the HDMI board to be $349, not $499? That was the price for the v2 board (1 in / 1 out upgraded to HDMI 2.0a). I don't believe the price for the v3 board (all in / all out upgraded) had ever been announced, but it's reasonable to expect it would cost a little more than the v2 board.

Agreed on the pricing, especially since it will have 8 inputs/2 outputs all HDCP 2.2/HDMI 2.0b compliant. Personally I'm looking forward to it for the switching. While I know it's necessary to use the two HDMI outputs on the UHD blu-ray player, I prefer only having to use the one main HDMI output.

Ok then I got this mixed up, thank you!
Does anyone know yet if OSD will be supported or will it be like with the MC-700 using the 3 HDMI 2.0 ports?

Does anybody have a good primer on Atmos/DTS-X? I've ignored those technologies since I attended a very underwhelming demo, but that could have been some Best Buy FUBAR at work

Ok then I got this mixed up, thank you! Does anyone know yet if OSD will be supported or will it be like with the MC-700 using the 3 HDMI 2.0 ports? Dan has stated that the "v3" board will use the highly sought after Panasonic chips. Unlike the SI chip used in the MC-700, they'll support full OSD over 4k. The Panasonic chips are also more expensive and in high demand which also further explains the price difference between the v2 and v3 boards.

The V3 HDMI upgrade is said to include "full support for HDR10 and Dynamic HDR," but no mention is made of Dolby Vision. Does anyone know what Emotiva's position is regarding possible Dolby Vision support for the XMC-1?
