Wow! That's a very glowing review which is making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside about my schiit. Hell, I can't really say whether my schiit really does all the wonderful and magical things he hears in his, but who cares? Viva el Schiit!!!

I had a Gumby (supposedly within spitting distance of the Yggy), and found it good but not great. At least not worth the cost... YMMV.

I have the Gumby and Yggy that I switch in and out of the system. I love them both. But the Yggy is definitely my favorite.

And the clicks drove me more crazy. 🤗

Personally I wouldn't call any DAC over $1,500 a bargain. It is just a DAC. Even a $40 CD player has a DAC in it which a lot of folks find very pleasing.

Eh. My Big Ego does amazing things, no need to spend more just to get a tiny insignificant gain

In my system Yggdrasil at $2300 outperformed a Wavelength costing 10X as much. My music suddenly had new life in ways I'd not heard from digital before. So for me it was a huge bargain. YMMV.

In any case, my opinion is the Yggdrasil is one of the best buys in audio right now.

Neither of my Yggdrasils nor the Gungnir Multibit I own "click between songs." The relay-based system that you hear switching only clicks when the input sample rate changes (for example, when switching between a 16/44.1 track and a 24/96 track.) If your unit tries to lock on to a new input rate between every song then either you source changes sample rate between songs (not normal behavior) or your Gungnir had a problem (not normal behavior.) Or quite possibly every other track you were playing was recorded at a different sample rate?

That said, I couldn't appreciate much if any difference in sound quality ober the DC-1. Perhaps I Just couldn't get over the distractions from one song to the next.
