Not using the CMX? I'll take it... Give away a gift 🎁 from my brother (he might hurt me😡! That's exactly why I didn't post the question, why don't you sell it. I figured it was a gift from someone very close to you. Very Logical!

So for me, the POWER AMP is plugged direct into the wall outlet as is my POWERED SUB but all other components I use a LINE CONDITIONER. For convenience more than anything

I don't believe power conditioners are necessary or useful. I do use surge protectors.
Sincerely /b

I use the Panamax for the surge part. When San Diego Greed and Extortion changed to the smart meters they blew out almost every cable box on the street. Not mine I have a nice Panamax which did trip. I had on alarm clock fry was it. some people on the street filed claims for SDG&E to replace a lot of equipment.
I can see need power conditioning if living in a rule area or Tia Juana. But for the most part it's surge protection.

I have a Belkin PF60 and love it. I have 12 components plugged into it including my XPA-2 and XPA-5 amps. It provides a great looking place to plug everything in, provides protection, noise filtering, voltage & amp usage information, advanced trigger controls & delay controls, 6 pairs of isolated outlets to separate and isolate components from one another and more. It also allows everything in my system to fully shut off (not just set to standby) except my XMC-1 and my MRF-350 which remain on standby to provide the initial IR trigger to respond to my remote. I auditioned a lot of power conditioners (including the top of the line Panamax and Furmans), as well as several power strips and surge protectors in my system, the Belkin PF60 was my favorite of all of them. It provided what I wanted and also was what made my system sound its best. The PF60 sounds great with my system while many other power sources I auditioned in my system did not sound so well, some restricted power peaks and seemed to poorly affect the systems sound, this was most noticeable in the bass. Also on another note the Belkin PF60 itself was released in several different versions over the years and some were not as good as others, some features varied. Anyway It's best to do a little research as well as auditioning with your own system.

Audioquest has a power conditioner for the very low price of $8,000. Of course, you would also want to spend another $8,000 on AQ power cables.

I don't use conditioner as I have no hair.
Oh, wait...wrong thread.
Mark (PS - I do have one for my upstairs system, but it's more as a lightning protector to guard the TV, BluRay, and my son's gaming device (PS4 or something...I have no clue...)

I do not and because I do not need to. Because you have a $20,000 whole-house power purification system and a dedicated utility company transformer on the street? I take a butter knife and stick it my wall socket and if shocks the crap out of me I know it's good electricity. So far none of my electrical appliances have complained about the electricity I supply them.

I don't use a conditioner per se, but my APC G5BLK is a decent surge suppressor that allows me to monitor voltage and amperage usage ('cause I like to do that kind of thing). More importantly however, it allows me to sequentially turn my components off and on. I start with the pre-amp, then power amp and finally the sources. I have triggers going from a Denon 4520 to the XPA7 and XPA200, nice sequence, then turn on the sub, be it the one for music or the one for movies, hey we burn a few calories by walking a bit, lol.... I bought the APC G5BLK for my previous ADCOM setup that didn't have triggers. My Emotiva gear simply starts in standby mode. I turn off my sub for all music listening and on for watching movies.

For convenience more than anything Hey V, if it works why fix it? BUT, a short story...in my area it varies thru the years how many thunder storms we have. The most dramatic happen about 5-6 years ago when lighting hit the back of a neighbors house. Fried everything electrical including circuit breaker box and scorched the outside back wall. I mention it b/c it also affected some other homes across the street where I live. Tripped the breakers but noting serious. Two months prior I purchased two PANAMAX surge protectors for my subs...GLAD I did. Oounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

We've all had this threads conversation 50 times over the years, so I wasn't goin to post here because I've said it all before. But since you brought up the PF60, I'll just say again that I won't live without it. Plugged directly into the wall, my Emotiva XPAs sound very harsh and almost shrill. With the PF60 in-between the sound is much smoother and natural. I it weren't for the PF60, I would have sent both XPAs back. Makes all the difference in the world in my space, plain and simple.

The original Belkin PF 60 was buildt as a bulletproof device, they don't make them like that anymore! Period! They built a great product with quality components along with a great reputation, after that they started cutting back on the quality components and reaped profits until the public caught on. Wish they still made them like this. In this first picture you cant see the enormous size of the electric cord, its huge and directly wired. The wall wart jack you see on the back is for other uses.

Mine look like the pics you posted, which came after. Before buying mine (two actually), I did some research to see what the differences were from the old expensive models to the newer less expensive ones. From all I could find, the only differences between them was the fewer amount of inputs. From what I could find, all the electronics inside were still the same. I certainly can't guarantee that, and I haven't ever opened mine up to see what's in there, but I can guarantee they most certainly improve the sound in my system, and do not limit anything to our ears. So many folks here claim to hear big differences between amps and such. Well I can say I heard no difference between my Denon Receiver and using the XPA amps, but we most certainly heard the difference when the PF60 was not in the chain. Note: When my wife has anything to say about the sound she is hearing from a stereo system, it must mean its noticable. If memory serves, her words without it were like brash and sharp.

You are correct about the photo I posted, I grabbed it off the net but both of mine are the original with all of the extra jacks and such. From chatting on other forums about this unit it is the best of the whole line.
