Could it be at the end of the bridge?

Looking at public statements and numerous products that are unavailable, as a company perhaps they are in trouble? Maybe the bridge analogy is correct. I had so much trouble with my equipment in my 1st year as a customer (year as of October 2021) I am apprehensive about buying any more Emotiva gear! Every time I got ready to order 4 pair of their speakers, 2 subwoofers and a center channel my XMC-2 needed to be shipped for repair and finally replaced and now multiples of the speakers I want are unavailable.
Is this typical "standard operating procedure" for Emotiva? (Emo as they are now known on the street next to van speakers)

In the last week I've been to Home Depot about six times. Three items I need are not in stock at several of the closest stores. HD would normally have about 500 of one of the items in stock in any store every day if this was two years ago, and the other items are normal stock items also. Two of the items will be in stock next week - maybe, and the other they don't know when.
This is now considered normal, and I come across this type of "out of stock" situation just about every week.

Go over to Crutchfield’s website and take a look at how many Denon, Marantz and Anthem AVPs and AVRs are “out of stock” and most without an ETA. Then, go over to Monoprice and see just how many Monolith amplifiers they have available for immediate purchase. Interested in a Monolith HTP-1…? Good luck with that… you’d be lucky to get one before early 2022. Using stock availability to gauge a company’s liquidity these days would be absurd. In fact, I'd suggest that any company that had inventory that wasn’t moving would be the one who's in trouble. Emotiva’s inventory comes and goes frequently. And wth their new BasX “A” series amplifiers and Airmotiv speakers continuing to be very popular “high demand” products, it’s not unusual to see them “temporarily unavailable”. So, no, this isn’t Emotiva’s “standard operating procedures”, but rather life inside of an industry and economy that's been ravaged by a global pandemic…

The issue with many of their products is that they are built in China (Speakers, Bas-X amps, etc), and that supply chain has major issues right now. I think the expansion modules are just proving very difficult to build/program for and they have a fairly small staff. And ultimately I am not sure how much profit these modules will generate, so it makes it difficult to hire outside help to speed up the process. I would argue that the modules were promised with the RMC line and the modules will spur on sales of the RMC-1, but who knows.

As doc1963 said, stock numbers fluctuate wildly right now in electronics across the board from hifi, to appliances, to the car industry that has been ravaged by chip shortages. There is such a wild demand for goods that when we get shipments of items in, they sell out sometimes in hours then we have to wait on the next shipment which can be another challenge these days since global shipping logistics are like playing the game QWOP. As a company, we are doing just fine so no need to worry about anything close to that.
We have the modules in house but there are still other things that have to fall in line for us to get them up for sale. There are times where we have stuff in house but we have to wait for all the ancillary details to come together.

Indeed, have you been to any of the auto lots lately. Most of them are empty or nearly so and dealers are known to mark up what new inventory they have dramatically, and use auto/truck prices are through the roof. This situation is worldwide and not likely going to disappear anytime soon. These is all 1st World problems, relax IMHO.

Kudos to allowing a home installation . I notice Damon said the 1st 2 slots are strictly for inputs which I assume means when the multichannel out + dsp module is released there will be a maximum 20channel capability ? [which is better than a lot in any case] Needless to say the opposition tt inputs are an afterthought without proper cartridge loading values ..

Agreed, home installation is welcome and will make these modules more popular. The module prices are also very reasonable as is the factory instal option. It will be interesting to hear more detail regarding the input / output capabilities of each slot; I got more of a feeling the 3rd slot couldn’t be used for inputs, but all three might be useable for outputs (as originally billed). We’ll see.

No.... it's a bit more complicated than that. (You will still be able to install up to three output modules - for up to 28 channels total - as long as you have enough empty slots to put them in.)
These two particular input modules can only be installed in Slot #1 or Slot #2. However, you will still be able to install other types of modules, like output modules, in these slots (as long as they aren't already occupied). Kudos to allowing a home installation . If that occurs the chances are good biamping/triamping with electronic crossovers as originally mentioned will be feasible I imagine One things for sure ; there wont be a hdmi 2.1 switcher hanging off the main chassis for the botched rollout of 2.1 by denon/marantz last year hdguru.com/denon-marantz-add-3-source-8k-4k-120hz-hdmi-switchers-for-avrs/
