PS - the remaining issues I'm seeing (no real concerns - I'm very confident, especially after the very fast resolution of the HDR issues in 5.0) 1. No DirecTV 4K HLG HDR (Emotiva is aware) 2. Missing audio options such as DTS... and Dolby.... 3. Missing option to change the XMC-1 panel display 4. Can't change the OSD color option 5. "Null" HDMI inputs, when chosen, freeze the XMC-1. I'd like to go in and customize all my connections now, but I'm not able to do so. 6. The Chuck Elliot (God rest his soul) PC app isn't working. To be honest, this wasn't unexpected - but the iPhone app works perfectly.

So sorry to hear this geebo Will you need an EMS ? 🚨 Emergency Music System 😋 Thanks, Nick, but I think we might survive the weekend. Lots of honeydoos I can catch up on. Sorry to hear Geebo. Sure would like to eventually find out what went south. And Kudos for being a patient man!

Adding my experience to the group.
-Got v3 board this weekend. -installed 5.0 -changed board out and restarted -HDR did not work on Oppo UDP-203, Zidoo X9s media player, PS4 Pro, Apple TV 4k -updated to 5.1 and rebooted all devices -HDR and DV work on Oppo, Zidoo, Apple TV -PS4 Pro shows HDCP to be 1.4 and won't output in 4k or HDR.....If I connect straight to my TV (LG OLED E6 65") with the same cable, it works fine.
Movies and TV are at least a go, but for gaming I'm back to direct-to-TV and optical audio to XMC-1 (makes it so audio is only 5.1 and compressed)
Glad to have the board working for most sources though!!!

Looks like there is no more OSD "Color Theme" or "Wide" options with the new V3 Board/firmware. Can anyone confirm this checking in your XMC-1 SETUP/PREFERENCES? Yep... those are gone. So is “Auto” lip sync under Setup > Inputs. Don’t understand the latter unless it is asummed. Don't understand the former, either... I quite like having choices there!

Unless there's something inherent in the new HDMI chipset that prevents it, they certainly could; the choice of colors (and maybe the "wide" option) were added with a firmware update for the old board. Not sure how long "auto" has been around, but again, if a firmware update taketh, then another firmware update should be able to giveth back...

Well no DV or HDR to test yet, but I’m enjoying the larger OSD, I’m wondering though if it’s because I’m in 1080p. Are those with 2160p getting a larger OSD as well? (actually I suppose you haven’t had an OSD until now) For me it is quite small and the font color is a darker bright blue (used to be white), making it difficult to read on a dark background (if transparency is off, then it is impossible to read). I have not seen a setting to change color or size. Hmmm, seems larger (not just wider) than what I remember, maybe as I suspected it’s larger in 1080.

Geebo, sorry to hear about the board. I remembered that we had the same setup with the Samsung and SEK so I dragged that tv to the living room in efforts to troubleshoot and see if it worked. Unfortunately, everything worked 4.0 so for it’s worth there is nothing wrong with your equipment prior to changing the board.

But I've since gotten an LG OLED for my main viewing. Your troubles are appreciated nonetheless.

I wonder if it is possible to add the option to force clear EDID on a per input basis?

I'll have to double check my PS4 pro again when I get home. (I even have it going through the VR setup) I could have sworn I was running 4K but I got caught up in troubleshooting issues with my Tivo Bolt all weekend.

Maybe reseat all the connectors? First thing I tried. Twice. Everything with the install went perfectly and I thought I was good to go. All menus work and inputs can be selected but none are recognized so I think it's just defective. Doo-doo happens. Geebo, you're not nearly angry enough. Are you sure you're on the right forum?

I just placed an order for the Emotiva HDBaseT 4K HDMI Extender. Lets see if it solve my long distance Dolby Vision issue. I will report as soon I get it delivered and running.

I'll give this two more weeks for you gamma testers to get the kinks out If you are waiting for HDMI to work flawlessly with every device, i'm afraid you will turn to dust long before that happens my friend. There is a new spec every 6 months with no clear definition of how to make it happen and vague requirements of standards which is left to the interpretation of each company to meet so everyone is doing something a little different from the rest. So if you are looking to jump in, come on in, the waters fine. If you are not in any hurry, well there will be a new standard coming soon. Just my unsolicited thoughts on the state of HDMI. Lonnie

I'll give this two more weeks for you gamma testers to get the kinks out I have said in the past that Emotiva should expand their beta program. Just look at the amount of data the users have already generated and how quickly even new firmware is generated. Reminds me of the old Oppo days. IMO this is the Emotiva forum at its best. Open communication between users and manufacturer and seeing real results from the feedback. How I wish it could continue without eventually blowing up and we go back to the old ways.

I called Emotiva about my bad board and talked with Grayson who wanted to check further with Keith and/or a tech. He called me back a short time later saying they are sending out a replacement board and call tag for the old one. Overall a pleasant experience. Hopefully my new board will be here in a day or two and I'll have better luck with it.

Just my unsolicited thoughts on the state of HDMI. Lonnie Lonnie, what's the current turnaround time for those of us who are planning to send in our units to have the board replaced? I'm not sure what the official statement is, but I believe we are caught up on all in house units. It takes a couple of days for a us to update the code, replace the board and re-certify it through the line. I do know that when one comes in they move right into the production line for retrofit along side of the new units being built. In short, we are making every effort to turn then in a couple of days upon arrival but I think the front office is being more conservative in their responses to people. Lonnie
