Looks like it doesn't do 4:4:4 and maxes out at 4:2:0 Are you sure that the "-" entries in the "Color space" column don't essentially indicate support for all Color Space formats? Casey

Ok, I'm installing my board this Sunday. Only time available when everyone is out of the house! I believe the kit came with a stick loaded with 5.0 I will load that, but I have also downloaded 5.1 to a stick. Nothing else on it. My question is, do I need to also download and flash with 5.1a? I have an Oppo 203 and Apple TV 4K. Reading some of these threads and posts concerning what does what can get rather confusing. Please post how this works out for you. I will be sending my unit back to Franklin for factory install next week, and I will be running a 203 and an ATV 4K as well, along with a Mac Mini (Roon). Will do

Hi Gents Having an issue ( I think ) Although my picture on Sony XBR900E looks stunning I don’t think it’s displaying HDR from Sony UBPX800. All cables are certified. Xmc1 displays 2160/24 8bits RGB 4:4:4 SDR. If I connect Dvd direct to tv it displays HDR. Otherwise TV displays 3840x 2160 4K Dvd display reads 4K 24p HDR > SDR Any thoughts on this issue? USB stick I recieved with V3 board is labeled 5.1 and updated firmware before and after install. Thanks

Also check if HDMI Extended Range is enable in your X900E. If the XMC-1 shows RGB 4:4:4 SDR then you are not getting HDR displayed in your TV.

I've updated my Oppo UDP-203 to the latest Public Firmware released today(link below). I've also updated the XMC-1 to v5.1a. As I've always preferred, I've set the Oppo to output HDR with a Color Space of BT2020 YCbCr 4:4:4 12bit and the XMC-1 is reporting exactly what the Oppo is sending(ie: 2160p/24 12bits, YCbCr 4:4:4 HDR). www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-udp-203/UDP203-firmware-60-0625.aspx

Also, how long takes the V5.1a update? I did it yesterday but I think it took less than 1 min or so. Then checked everything and didn't see any difference in my setup so I reflashed with V5.1

It is a small update, Ray noted this in his post: For those of you that already have 5.1 loaded and are having problems getting 4k on game consoles or HTPC, please try the attached. I had to zip it to fit within the attachment limits. Be sure to unzip it first. This will load much faster than a normal update because it is only loading one piece of firmware. Please post your results. Thanks, Ray

This hobby is going to kill me. So upgraded the XMC-1 to V5.1a and at the same time the Oppo 203 updated to latest Public Firmware and after that no video at ALL on the 4K LG Monitor. I can get 4K HDR from ATV 4K but not from the 203. Then switched to the 50' Monoprice HOSS active cable and got the 203 working again. I just went to my office were I had the same Media Bridge 35' HDMI cable, plugged into the 203, well nothing, just flashing screen. I was running the beta firmware until tonight and after the public firmware the 35' Mediabridge HDMI cable is not woking anymore with the 203. I almost go crazy figuring this out. Can't believe that a simple firmware update can make a HDMI cable not working anymore. It does pass 1080p, but not 4K from the Oppo. Weird things happens!!!

The ATV 4K still works with that cable at 4K/60 4:2:0. Anyways, at least I know the Monoprice HOSS does work full 4K HDR.

Bitrate on 4K is much higher hence this could explain why it worked with a signal of 1080p but not 4K. Agreed! Guys, the 35' Mediabridge HDMI cable was working with the Oppo 203 just fine @ 4K/60Hz HDR 8bits 4:2:2 when I had the beta firmware. After updated it to public firmware, the Mediabridge HDMI cable is not passing any 4K signal, only 1080p but the ATV 4K still pass 4K/60 HDR 4:2:0 with the Mediabridge 35' HDMI cable. So something in the latest Oppo 203 public firmware made the cable not working anymore.
