Thoughts? I got the email, would probably use it as an outdoor speaker amp?

I got the email too. I find it intriguing and for $600 I could be come a member of the SMBS.

I'm not sure I'd spend $600 for a pair of class D amps.

They MAY have gotten it RIGHT.

A 1000 watt version with FR from 10-200 Hz and I'd be interested.

I'd love to hear them...as the owner of Class D amps already, I know Class D is not something to be laughed at in general. These might be amazing.

Now, if someone just slightly north of me were to buy them and drive down to rock out and have a beer...I'd listen! Mark

I’d consider a multi-channel Class D, preferably something like the XPA G3 I could get up to 11 channels or more, don’t have room to stack enough of these.

Have you looked at the nakeds on these amps. Doesn't look like much power conditioning or power regulation on these class d amps. I wonder if some kind of external power bank or such would make these shine. My guess is that these class d amps are really for people with limited space and a huge need for extreme power efficiency in tight spaces.

My guess is that these class d amps are really for people with limited space and a huge need for extreme power efficiency in tight spaces. The PS is a 'switcher' on board with the amp portion. It simply won't look 'right' to someone used to conventional or 'linear' PS with large capacitors and larger transformer. Because the switcher operates at a very high frequency, you simply do NOT need huge capacitors. The PS caps recharge thousands of times per second, while in a linear amp, you are limited by power line frequency of 50hz or 60hz. Most amp PS are fairly unregulated and will have a voltage sag under higher loads as the caps can't be refreshed quickly enough. Any regulation of voltage done could be done 'on board' using small SS regulators. But this would be for 5v or 12v mainly, not the full rail voltage of the amp.

I'll stick with my inefficient, heavy, dated, expensive, but robust and reliable linear power supplies...

I get it. I sold my ICE amp'd integrated. But will say that even with my VERY low sensitivity panels, I couldn't warm the darn thing up.

Congrats and enjoy. It’s a good feeling no longer being worried about owning the boat anchors when they go tits up and Emotiva can’t or won’t fix them after the warranty period is up.
