This thread kind of reminds me of days of old when a guy named SOLIDSTATE used to come here all the time. Anyone remember him?
- ALL CAPS YELLING ALL THE TIME.
- ONE SENTENCE RANDOM THOUGHT BLURBS.
- ALWAYS TELLING US WE DID EVERYTHING WRONG.
- IF YOU DON'T USE HDMI FOR EVERYTHING YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
- CONSTANTLY SAYING NO ONE REALLY UNDERSTOOD THINGS LIKE HE DID.
- CONTINUOUSLY MISUNDERSTANDING EVEN THE SIMPLEST OF CONVERSATIONS TURNING THEM INTO TECHNICAL OVER EXAGGERATIONS AND TECHNO BABBLE.
- NOT BEING ABLE TO UNDERSTAND IT WAS HIM BEING THE OBSTINATE JERK.
- NEVER GOING AWAY.
Seems familiar to me.

Just an opinion from a fellow member just like you are. If I wanted to insult you I will first ask you your name and then I will directly tell you but that is childlike behavior and I don't do that kind of stuff. Nice audio system you have there! We are audiophiles, maybe we should keep it to that! Peace! I am sorry I haven't been clear. I do not only frequent this forum for information from folks like you which I find of great value, I also frequent this forum for entertainment. I am of course being very sarcastic and I am by no means undermining anybody here.

What is your major, Electronics? Or Mechanics? None of this subject (speakers cabling calculation - has to do with the speaker. I repet it so you can understand. As Mr. KeithL and me, related it to DF, and DF is the ratio between the amp's output resistor and a fix 8 ohms @ 1kHz (no matter what your speaker impedance will be at 1kHz or any Fr.). Bachelor Of Engineering (a five year degree requiring a thesis) , major - electrical engineering, minor - mathematics, 41 years of closed loop experience in the industrial motor / controller business. So what's that got to do with the price of cheese in Denmark? Now, the DF you are talking about is the specification that manufacturers list for their amps and yes it is based on the amps characteristic output impedance and a typical (for simplification) 8 ohm speaker load at (if you insist, but it is inconsequential since the values are purely resistive) 1khz. What I am talking about is real life DF resulting from a real amp connected to real wire and a real speaker, and surely you must understand that it is all interconnected. The sizing of speaker wire is an infantile calculation done quite adequately by journeymen apprentice electricians or anyone else, for that matter, who has ever heard of Ohm's Law. What , may I ask are your qualifications and education? With all your record and qualification, you have no idea what is the relation between your amplifier, speaker cable and speakers. You now invented real amp, wire and speaker, vs. pseudo or other amp. wire and speaker? Well, there is only one amp. one wire and one speaker. What ever you are saying about the calculation is using Ohm's law. But even you say it's infantile calculation, none of you (including yourself) couldn't put it together, Sorry to say so, but it is the truth. Regardless of my credentials, grade or IQ. Just for the record, my first project (after my military service in the IAF) was to design 3 cards for the IAF mission computer for the F-16. After, I designed two cards of your US ARMY's F-4 upgrade by Boeing. My last for that firm, was an HD video card on the Apache helicopter (IHADSS). In between, ATE, to include the one for the Israeli MERCAVA tank, F-5 flight test in Singapore, NEVAL combat system integration, Two headed video camera for the Cobra helicopter, VOA audio proposal (wining) and 2 projects. Among others, I was a team leader and project manager. None is relevant (just as yours) to this subject we gathered for here! The bottom line is, no one else, privet nor from the industry came to answer it. Unfortunately, you are among them. Your problem (as of most of you here) is not your record (BS, MA or PhD.), but your attitude.

I thought at first it was due to language barriers, but it is due to your snotty personality. Bye!
