You'd be better off calling them and asking.

Personally I will never again buy a product with a promise to fix issues. Even if they come on here and promise to fix any issues you do not know until it is done. It have hit issues that were at the chip level and not fixable. The intention may be there, byt not necessarily the ability. (The product referenced was not an Emotiva product)
Emotiva has their plate full with RMC-1 issues. I doubt there is much bandwidth left for other pre/pro.

It never ceases to amaze me how some folks would prefer to put on the drama queen and complain in the wrong place.....instead of networking directly with technical support THEN implement and share the before and after on the forum.

I own an MC700 and have experienced none of the issues you list. I do not use 4K, so that one is off the table for me. I have no issues switching inputs or audio modes. I am not sure what you are referring to with the EMO-Q. That being said, there are 2 big brothers to the MC700. The XMC-1 and the RMC-1. Both of these pieces of equipment suffer untold quantities of software anomalies. Just check the 2 most used threads for the XMC HDMI board or the RMC user issues. Emotiva may know electronics, but are totally out of control on software quality, user documentation and user interface design. As previously stated, my guess is the flagship RMC-1 at 10x the MC's cost will take all of their attention to not totally turn off their customer base.

Not that I disagree with the issues, but come on op. What makes this thread/demand different from any of the others?
This seriously has all the makings of an "Or else" "Or else what?" "I don't know." argument.

I’ll chime in on the XMC-1. I installed the 4k board and the only issues I have currently with the latest firmware is the occasional no video/or no sound which requires a hard button reboot. The other issue is no center channel sound on turn on which requires a toggle from Dirac to Preset 1 and back. These are annoying and I would like them fixed as everything else works great. Not a long list for me and no desire to head to the dump.

When I am in the market for a new pre-pro, I doubt I will start my search with Emotiva. I have one desire - to listen to good sound. I am not interested in an adventure to figure out how a complicated piece of equipment works (without any value add from supplied documentation) and then to figure out the work arounds to get it to do what it is advertised to do.

Emotiva doesn’t have a good track record with surround sound prepros, but the XMC-1 certainly puts out great sound. Prior to the 4k board, it was rock solid. I have no regrets and am confident a fix will come for the issues I am having. There are a lot of options out there from other makers and there is no need to suffer if you can find something else to satisfy.

My last three HT boxes have been Yamahas. Every one of them have worked perfectly, IOW, no problems. In order: CX-A5000 pre/pro, TSR-7810, and now a TX-A2070. I've owned a UMC-1 (not fit for HT use IMO, & a UMC-200(not half bad but had limitations).
As for the OP posting questions here, what is so wrong with that? Or are you guys that complain about these types of posts trying to hide something? Do you really think every one of these types of inquiries is just someone trying to start a schiit-storm? The schiit-storms are caused by the complainers, but I don't expect you complainers to see that.

I sold my UMC-200 and snagged a Marantz pre on Craigslist. I prefer it in many ways but the UMC-200 is/was a great product. I will very likely pick up an XMC-1 used as more of them show up.

As a forum member I will confirm that I will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about your processor issues. You need to communicate with Emotiva, not the forum.

I just wanted to apologize to the OP. I didn't realize that he already had a MC700 when I posted my opinion. I was thinking that I was in the thread about buying one, not an ow er asking for issues to be fixed.
Good Luck, I hope they can fix you up.

It never ceases to amaze me how some folks would prefer to put on the drama queen and complain in the wrong place.....instead of networking directly with technical support THEN implement and share the before and after on the forum. Bill I have contacted support several times. There were a few promises to "look" at a few things, which they never did. To answer the OP: Emotiva will not be fixing any of this, they haven't even updated the firmware in forever. I would be shocked if anyone official commented on this thread. Threads like this are one way to either get a response, or at least show possible buyers to avoid purchasing a unit with so many issues. My issues were: 4k compatibility with a few common devices, also a 4k problem that caused the MC700 to need a hard reboot to fix - this was the issue that they never got around to looking at. Since then, some other users have commented that their MC700 works with some of the devices I had problems with, so maybe my unit was defective. However, I would never know since they never offered to look at it or test the problem on their own despite my unit still being under warranty at the time. Audio pops with source format changes - I was told this was due to their design choice - they used an HDMI switch that can't detect format changes, so it will play encoded digital noise like it is PCM until the firmware figures out that an encoded signal is being received. Audio drop outs - never complained about this, but it happens enough that I had to hear my wife complain about it all the time. Lip sync - I had some issues with this with Amazon streams. Manually adjusting the lip sync only works up to a point. After some point, it doesn't seem to apply any further delay despite the delay number changing. I replaced my unit with a Marantz and have never been happier. The MC700 is gathering dust on a shelf. I feel too bad to sell it to some sucker, so it is basically worthless to me.
