There is no plan to raise the price of the UMC-1. $699. No, we don't make a ton on that...do the math. We'd rather sell more at a lower price than a handful at a higher price...without an elitist attitude. Bringing fire to the people. Don't mess with me, I've got a glass of bourbon in my hand. The mention of the 885 was unfair and I'd delete that part of the post if it hadn't been quoted twice now. For the record not all of the "refurbs" were actually refurbs. But that is entirely beside the point and doesn't make the rest of the post any less pertinent. I want(ed) a UMC for a lot of reasons. Some of those reasons are still true and I may very well buy one, out of curiosity if nothing else. I'm a fan of what Emo is trying to accomplish, I'm just not a fan of having smoke blown up my &%$. My issue is the "updates" that have zero information. I think telling us every three months that they are "really colse" and that the UMC will be sold "really soon" borders on being dishonest. (I stress the word border because I just know the fan-boys will accuse me of calling them liars. I am not.) I'd rather be told nothing than to be strung along. I dont care how delayed the UMC-1 is, I really don't. The length of the delay is entirely beside the point. Still trolling. No one makes you read UMC-1 updates. Go watch a movie or something. Good to see that the Little saint hasn't lost his sense of superiority and is still making friends. Can you imagine someone updates a forum that he's been on a pre-order list for 2 years ?? Crazy !!! I do agree with the saint tho I can't imagine any reason why there is no pdf available yet ? How can that not be done yet ? I don't know if there is any smoke being blown or not but it seems that this thing must have set a world record for finding bugs. Makes you wonder about the oem's being used. What I wanna know is what happened to the 18 types of ass  |

Releasing an unfinished work/buggy work could be disastrous for us, and we're just not gonna do it. Big Dan has said he'd rather never release another processor than release one that had bugs and issues. Yes, updates and bugs will be there to some degree, and addressed, but this particular time around, the stakes are high, and we are not willing to throw scraps out, just because a lot of dogs are barking...  No amount of 'WTF' type posts or 'HOW COULD THEY?' posts, or 'I'M REALLY CONCERNED' posts, or 'I CAN'T BELIEVE IT' posts, etc., are gonna change that. We have been accused of lying, being incompetnet...what else? A lot of stuff. Look around. Lots of companies are delaying the release of their new processors. What's happening now is a BIG step...the new formats/variables are HUGE. Potential handshake issues are a big deal. We've developed our own platform, and it's a great product. It's taken us a LOT longer to finish than we ever dreamed, and 30 years of OEM experience couldn't have prepared us for it. But it's real, it's coming, and it's being tested definitively and thoroughly right now. The green light to proceed with mass production could come any day. There's truly nothing else to say right now...take a hit of oxygen and relax... ;D |

I have a few things in mind. . . or DO IT! ;D I didn't mean for that post to sound angry at all...I just want people to know that we are well aware of what's going on, and no one is asleep at the wheel..and no amount of outrage, either real or imagined is really going to change much. We want the UMC-1 worse than anyone on the planet. We want to be loading it into the FedEx truck every day, unit after unit...seriously. |

^^Didn't sound angry to me, sounded like someone who gave a straightforward, non-PC response, which I think is refreshing. The response of "it's closer than it's ever been and we're working hard to get it done" makes me want to refer you to a PR Firm. I learned long ago saying nothing, or something generic gives everyone a chance to make up what you are thinking in their head, putting it out there in a brutally honest way avoids most of the of BS, second guessing, and additional clarification which might be necessary with a different response. So, I think it was perfect. If you're at home drinking and typing, I say you should do this for all Emo Forum discussions! |

Just had a great meal at BD's mongolian BBQ. That, and took advantage of the Mongo Octo ($6.99 for a mug and 25 oz of Sam Adams Octoberfest and 3 $2.50 refills)...what does this have to do with this thread...there is a pic of whiskey...other than that...I don't know! I'm fat and happy.

I think we all know (or should know) at this point that you guys have upped it from 18 to 180 kinds of ass! I personally would rather have a bug free quality product than the buggy ones I have gotten in the past and currently own. Oh and Powers is my favorite! Too many nights back in college did old johnny powers do a number on me! Pretty sure you got the spelling right on the Kilbeggan's and it has been a while. Promise I'll buy you a round next year when the wife and I make the way to EmoFest if you can find a place that carries it. I can never seem to find a bar that carries Powers either. . .such a shame  |
