Hello there, Just a little question : I know that the Emo team can't give us a release date for the UMC. But, do you think it's gonna ba available before christmas ? Thank you. Clearly we aren't the right people to answer this question. Many of us though the UMC would have been ready before now. I think the most we can do is keep our fingers crossed that "very soon" means less than 3 months. |

Grasping at straws here, but can anyone who went ot the RMAF erport if there was any UMC-1 Release Date news there? The focus seems to have been on 2 channel, but maybe there was some hint?

I doubt there was any hint given. Emotiva is really holding the line on "we'll tell you when it's done, but we're not making any [more] predictions or promises."
I'm disappointed that the UMC is taking so long, as I want an XMC when the calendar still says 2009 (as unlikely as that is looking). But, everyone wants the products to be as close to flawless as possible rather than shipped half-baked. If people really can't wait, they can always buy something else... or get something to hold them over (as I did).

i made a post in the FW thread i dunno why.. but i got the "ready to ship, pay now" email. should i pull the trigger with FW update being two weeks out ? should i pass on pulling my perfect mmc for a maybe not so perfect UMC?

i emailed back and forth with janna about my unit and she said "The newest firmware is about 2 weeks out."
they say they can ship mine with the new but i dont know when that is .

I'm just guessing that the 2-Weeks out statment was either:
-A rough estimate on units arriving from China with the new FW preinstalled
- A "safe-bet" estimate on the timing to get the final FW done and loaded onto units already in the warehouse prior to shipping out

Have been busy so haven't been in the office since early Friday. I walk in and look on the shelf where my deliveries and low and behold there is a UMC-1 sitting there. ;D ;D Not sure how long it had been there as the FedEx website still says Narita. I guess FedEx is like USPS as far as tracking updates go, or maybe the guy here doesn't have a computer to do updates on???  Now I want to go home early!  |

Done.
I am loving this thing so far. Setup took about 30 minutes between connections and programing. It took as much time to disable all the AUX's as setting up the 4 inputs. I have not run EMOQ yet but sounds wonderful at baseline right now. The 10' distances are all very close. I will run it this weekend with or without the new FW.
I've had no hic-ups or anything troublesome to this point. I think setting up the Harmony will take longer.
