I'd rather have customers holding a place in their home theater rack for a new product and complaining about the delay than having that same customer buy something else since they didn't know a new product was coming. If a few critical comments are enough to make Emo completely reconsider their information release strategy...... Don't feel bad for Emotiva. They've got a ton of people waiting months on end for a product they've never seen or heard, with money in hand. For that kind of luxury, some negative comments on an online forum seem fairly reasonable, and something I'd gladly take with a smile if I were them. Exactly. I believe Emotiva chose to share info about a product in development and offer availability timelines because it helped their bottom line... not because they get some warm fuzzy feeling from being open with us. Well, sir, there you'd be wrong. There are/were many reasons for sharing information, and in the beginning, it was about excitement. Excitement over new stuff, excitement about getting it to people, and enjoying the excitement coming back. That's the whole reason Dan L. started the company. He was excited about doing his own thing, doing something different, and having a dialogue with his customers was an important part of his business model. He'd have been a LOT smarter to just keep doing nothing but contract work, but he wanted a toy. I think the company is doing well for one reason: Great gear at unbelievable prices and good customer service to back it up. Ok, that's three reasons. He chatted with a random customer for a loooong time today about Ice powered amps and such. He likes to do that stuff. He's excited about gear. Everyone is. Best wishes to you and your desire to go elsewhere. We're still working to correct any and all issues and won't comment it things much til then. Peace

er...I wanted to point it out, in case anyone thought otherwise. It's not an uncommon practice in the AV world, man. No unpleasantness intended. What is this I don't even...

What is this I don't even... That, sir, was hitting 'quote' to modify a typo instead of 'modify'. Scary stuff.

Dann, let it go dude, we true bleed blue guys understand and apprecitate everything you are doing to get the product out. I have been on the waiting list for a long time and know that sometimes things dont go as planned, but oh well, after all it is what it is. Also, where did you get the "shades" in your pic, looks like they would stay on your head riding a bike

Once the product is delivered the delays will be a distant memory, or forgotten entirely.
On the other hand a product with glitches will be remembered for a long time.

I just really wanted to clarify that point...talking about new stuff started because it was fun, and people wanted to know...we DIDN'T talk about the USP-1 til it was on the way, and spent a few nights in the dog house... So...you do what you think is right and go to sleep wearing your shades, just like you get up wearing them.

A problematic UMC-1 released to the world? I, for one, would fake my own death, leave town and go live in some small town in the desert, drinking tequila at a bar with locals, talking about my 'troubles back East'.

Sorry to be a broken record here... but I will suggest again that you consider sharing this exciting information in the future sans the estimated delivery timelines. This way folks don't have to deal with the frustration of missed timelines and I don't have to live in fear that the Emo fans will hunt me down for being the reason they can't get their information about products in development. I don't once think I have mentiond that I plan to go elsewhere. Despite what others have tried to imply about me, I can be patient and it's not life and death. Plus, I built my equipment rack to fit an LMC-1/UMC-1, and I can't easily redesign it to fit something larger.

Dan, you forgot the info on the shades Man, I have no idea where I got them...but I didn't pay more than 10 bucks or so...I go through them like Spinal Tap goes through drummers...just lose 'em often, so I'm always buying new ones. God blessed me with lovely blue eyes that can't stand sunlight.

Dear Emo,
Thanks for the heads up on the delay. I appreciate you sharing the news - good or bad. I'll be here when you get it just right.

Can't say much for the first part of your plan, but I'm sure the "drinking tequila with the locals" portion could be worked into quite a few more pleasant scenarios. Dare to dream..
