I guess that part of what the "black box" will do is for Dirac to be able to address each channel separately when measuring the transfer functions. They said the black box has nothing to do with the measurements themselves...it's just something to communicate between your PC DIRAC is running on, DIRAC's server (for license check), and your RMC/XMC. Mark Exactly what the black box does only Emotiva knows. I am just curious as an engineer to get to know what it does. No big deal. The main issue is that I hope that the Emotiva staff can stay healthy and get the last details into place as soon as possible.

And, I certainly hope the Emo-crew can all stay healthy (and Lounge lizards also!). But, either Hair Nick or Keith posted about the role of the box. I think it was Keith. Mark

Let’s turn it down a bit buddy. You got what you paid for - as advertised. If I was stupid enough to make such a correct remark, I’m not sure how stupid it makes you look for buying on a promise. But hey keep pushing the “entitled” card. 👍 How difficult is it to understand that I did not buy on a promise to have Dirac. I bought the RMC-1 with a Dirac Live License and until that has been delivered I have not got what I paid for. I ordered it in the beginning of januari 2019 and in no way did they "promise" to include Dirac sometime in the future. The spec said Dirac included but before delivery they put up a note that Dirac was to be delivered Q1-2019, not a promise just a statement. Ah I see................................................so you bought on a promise

Ah I see................................................so you bought on a promise I also bought mine in Sweden. It was actually marketed as having Dirac. Later changed as ”will have Dirac soon”. Opening a box and finding a note that a part will be delivered soon, is NOT buying on a promise. Depending on what info you got when you bought it both views are correct. IMO I actually had to read info about Dirac being delayed on the net to get this info before I bought it. Not everyone logs on to the net to read every forum posts. But for the price of this prepro all should do a well informed purchase.

I suggest anyone who’s local agent isn’t abiding by Emotiva’s term and conditions should dobb them in (that’s report them) to Emotiva for not doing so. When they became an Emotiva agent they would have had to agree to and sign the agency agreement, which in itself will require compliance with Emotiva’s term and conditions. My understanding is at least one local agent has lost their agency as a result of not abiding by Emotiva’s term and conditions.
Cheers Gary

Any update on the availability of DIRAC LIVE for the RMC-1? Latest Info I've got from my German Dealer: Emo was talking of about 8 weeks before shipping to Germany.
So this would be around end of may + some add. days for shipping to the enduser.

8 weeks is an interesting number. Can we assume that they are still writing and testing code for the implementation? Another option is they are getting custom etched casing for the Pi which could take some time. I can't imagine that they would release Dirac without beta testing, and it seems that is very tight lipped so... The timeline is just interesting I guess.

Hi Nick & Keith,
I hope you are doing well and that the Emotiva family is safe and healthy. I'm getting a little stir crazy and have this awesome XMC-2 and XPS amp, M&K Sound & Definitive speakers and a shiny new Sony 4k projector. I panic purchased some of my favorite movies in 4k / Atmos & DTS-X.
How are things progressing on the DIRAC front? Could you give us an update on the progress?
Thanks!

My guess is that sorting through logistics and getting all the needed parts in stock for the LBB-1 is what's going on...case and everything else, including packaging to ship them in. And, as they have noted...COVID-19 is slowing down a lot of things in our world and creating uncertainty is a lot of timelines. Mark

The part that runs on the computer is the standard Dirac Live software and is finished. The code that resides in the firmware on our processor is pretty much done and has been working for some time. What we're doing now is just fine tuning things like how it ties in to the menu, what options you pick, and what boxes you need to check.
The firmware that resides on the Emotiva Dirac Network Interface box is also pretty well done, although we're also finalizing a few details there as well. (Most of those details involve exactly how it ties in to the menu system on the processor.)
We're also working on the logistics of building, packaging, and shipping the Network Interface boxes, and the kit that goes with them. The code for those simply goes on a micro-SD card which then gets plugged into the box itself...
These are all minor details... but everything takes time... and we want to make sure these work right the first time around....
(But we're only expecting it all to take just a few more weeks.)
Any update on the availability of DIRAC LIVE for the RMC-1?

Thank you for the update Keith! It's always that last 5% of the work that takes all the time. Cheers!

I used to have a lot of trouble accessing Dirac full on XMC-1 from my Macs. The Dirac Software on my Mac computers could not see the XmC-1 on my network, even tough I could control the XMC-1 with the remote on my IOS devices. I really hope the new iteration of Dirac for the XMC-2 would be different and play nicer with all my computers, including my MAC computers, specifically.
