I'm currently typing on my beloved Surface Pro 3, but alas - I dropped it and got a major crack in the touch screen this weekend. So, only part of the touch screen now works. So, I ordered a new Surface Pro 7. It's basically the same as what I have with a few minute tweaks (and a fully working touch screen). View AttachmentArriving tomorrow! Mark I love these tablet solutions very much especially as an interface. Dropping them is no fun though. I use armor on my devices because of my butter fingers. Never saw if there is armor for the Surface though. Would be interesting to protect the Surface from unexpected gravitational events. Causing Seismic emotional trauma. I've had my old Surface for about 4 years, and it's served me well. The new one seems a bit zippier overall and I do like the facial recognition for accessing my stuff. I prefer the surface to a traditional laptop. Small, light, powerful...very nice device. I do need to look into options to protect the glass. In this case, It fell and hit on a corner. So - unless it's a case that protects the whole thing and lets me use the keyboard, it's a no-go for me. Mark

Just really need to be patient and have the proper tools.

Her husband just got laid off and had to return his laptop to his company, so it could get them by for a while. I watched a video on it, and it looks a lot easier than repairing an iPod...did that for my son years ago. Very tiny connectors... Mark

Mounting plate for the Fast Fire Red Optic finally came in! Mounted the Burris optic and can't wait to get to the range to sight in the new sight.

Are you sure this doesn't belong in the Humor Thread ? I know, right! I really am that blessed! She thought that the portable battery powered wet/dry vacuum was a gift from heaven! 😁 I think she’s a little intimidated by the zero-turn though. $50. for the trimmer delivered is a steal too.

Plum Black wood-color touch-up marker for black-ash finish speakers & subs. Why not use a Marks-a-Lot? Because the Marks-a-Lot not only isn't the exact color of black ash, but it also stains the finish around the chip and can't be wiped off. The wood-color touch-up marker can be blended (with a dry paper towel) into the existing finish.

View AttachmentView AttachmentPicky Picky Picky. This Technics is the first deck not to be thrilled type 2 XLII Maxell. Fine, It like URs so some TDK Ds on the way. Haven't used a TDK cassette in forever and since I like the calibration facilities on the Technics RS-M280, feed it type 1. It better get used to it. Type 2 is all but gone and forget Metal that is dead too. Plus this deck does not do Metal. Just missed that. I like this deck but I think the Aiwa is just a bit more detailed, but the Technics has I think still a great full sound though. Highs definitely to the Aiwa. The midrange. Tough call. View Attachment Wow, trip down memory lane. The TDK type D was my favorite "Normal" tape. But most of all I liked the Sony FeCr tapes. They went along very well with my 3-head Technics deck. I had made a mod adding a pot in the back to adjust the bias. Using the source/tape switch it took only a few seconds to find the right setting for the bias by ear. Fun days.

New Garmin smartwatch, to replace an older model. I like watches with "real" analog hands, this one to me is the best of both worlds: analog movement and hidden AMOLED display:

Lithium ion leaf blower! 180 MPH 💨 wind! So glad my corded one broke. I would not have thought of this. I have a backpack 🎒 blower, but this is better for quick repetitive chores. I’ve got the same one. Bought it about 2 years ago. Ditched my corded Toro when I saw how well it worked. I’ve yet to replace the battery. It’s been a great purchase. When it rains it pours. Now my backpack blower is dead and I bought this Husqvarna. Most powerful one I could get my hands on

I picked up one of these yesterday: Battery range was better than expected driving it home. It had about 3/4 charge and I had 157 miles to get home, mostly on 50-60mph roads. I got home with 69 miles left on the 'guessometer'. By far more accurate than the Nissan Leaf ever was. I was able drive it to/from Home Depot about 25 miles away without further charging since I didn't have the hardware to charge it. No extension cords allowed! The car seemed to know it was on a 50' 12ga extension. Damned cars get smarter by the year. I may sell my 2013 Golf TDi. It 'only' gets 41mpg. There are charging stations all over the place now, and many of them are DC, and this car had the port for DC quick charging. A 500 mile round trip would probably require only 2 charge stops. For the 2+ years I owned the Nissan Leaf I was painfully aware of the severe limitations of that car. When I'd get in it after a full charge the guessometer would read 74-77 miles, and I'd be lucky to get 60! Nissan screwed a lot of people over with that clunker. The Bolt is no joke, it is a seriously good EV car. I had to climb one big mountain pass to get home. The more miles I clicked off the more confidence I got that this car was no 'leaf'! It has some pretty cool features too. Like 'one pedal driving'. Literally, you do not need to use the brake pedal in normal driving situations. The regeneration feature will stop the car rather aggressively, but it isn't like slamming on the brakes, it just slows you down faster than you might using the brakes. Once the car is stopped it will hold position until you step on the accelerator, even on a hill. If there is any downside, it is the Premier model, top of the line, with extras. One of them is the Bose sound system. Please don't tell my audio buddies!!!

Don't tell my wife. She's on a kick of buying all sorts of LED lights lately. I'll admit some are useful, but I foresee a huge expense in batteries coming up. Mark

Mark And how much my silence it worth to you? Thankfully these all come with batteries that have an expected 17 hour life. It's $19.99 for 18 lights from Costco. I figure these ought to come in handy and prevent some stubbed toes.
