The gen3 processors sans DLBC now sound better than the Monoprice with DLBC? i never made a direct comparison between the two. What I do know is how good the XMC2 is compared to my buddy’s BAT VK33se for 2 channel. Given the latest audio improvements I’m perfectly content with what I have. I only have one sub too and while I’m sure DLBC would be the optimal sub integration, it’s pretty darn good without it, so I’m not holding my breath. I’m sure the monoprice owners are happy too. I’m just too old to deal with brand loyalty and all the other nonsense related to that. I also just bought a Jeep Wrangler. I don’t care if the new Ford Bronco is better or worse since I’m not changing vehicles regardless - just a quick analogy. Love the sound of my XMC-2 with Dirac engaged. Always preferred reference stereo with my XMC-1. If it gets better then I'm happier.😊

I have yet to run Dirac as I don't want cause anymore issue then the xmc 2 already gives me.

Yes I did because that was what worked best in the XMC-1, I used Dirac for movies and refernce stereo for music. With the XMC-2 Dirac provides better soindstage and seperation of instruments and vocals.

What I have observed between my 2 rooms and it’s pretty obvious but the better treated your room is the less the difference is between reference stereo and stereo (with Dirac). I can listen to music in reference stereo mode too but since I like to use my sub for music, the 9 point Dirac measurement is better in my situation. Considering how much quality bass I get for music, I do wonder how much better DLBC will be in my room.

Room treatments have not changed. Dirac on the XMC-2 simply sounds better than reference stereo on my system.

I wish I had speakers that don’t require subs.

That's one person many of the newer members here could learn a lot from. I know I did when I first joined.

He did give a quick review of the DIs a few days after he received them,it was on the tekton owners thread. He said he loved them so far and he did a little amp session with a few different amps, but said the F11 from black ice were the best sounding yet,,I am waiting for his review of the F35

He said he'd run REW on them also.

I have an Xbox One X and an XMC-2. I noticed in a recent Xbox upgrade that DTS:X Home Theater is now one of the output setting options on the Xbox. When I select it, the Xbox refuses to allow it saying that my processor does not support DTS:X. Is this a real limitation ie something special about the "Home Theater" branding in the name? Or is the Xbox or XMC-2 software just not negotiating properly? Thanks! This is for sure a XBOX Problem - all my Players work just fine with DTS.X. I tried setting my XBox 1X to Dts:x again this evening. The same problem persists. Has anyone gotten this to work?

I have the same problem. My guess is that my RMC-1L does not present well enough or persistently all its capabilities when handshaking/negotiating with the Xbox.

Win 10 will simply keep suggesting you to activate.

Correct not working. Question is what's difference between dts:x and dts:x home theater? Unable to find it anywhere. Perhaps changing setting on menu in Blu-ray to not allow the processor to decode. Otherwise dtsx works in pass thru fine and I can force off atmos to dts in box 1s in audio settings.

Do Netflix and Amazon not use LFE? I set preset 1 up as fronts large and subs center LFE and noticed subs not being active across 4 movies over multiple days. Preset 2 I setup as fronts small and center subs as mono, they work fine on Preset 2. The processor read 5.1 on the info screen so I do not get it, thanks.

rhale64 - I saw your comment a couple pages ago re. issues w/the Panny. Did you see this? If it relates - it's worth a try. Hello, I am new to the forum but reading it since some time already. I am the happy owner of xmc-2. I will share some hint for Panasonic UHD player owners (I have UB9000) with Emotiva current processors, which may help to avoid losing sound when watching UHD Atmos movies after longer pause. It looks it's caused by Panasonic's Sound clarity feature (not sure what this feature does...). It needs to be disabled on hdmi input in the Panasonic player settings. I switched it only to be available with coax / optical inputs, additionally I disabled it when watching movie by going from the remote -> picture settings -> sound and there 'sound clarity' to disable. (I tested it on a few movies and it works for me. So no longer xmc-2 restart needed to restore sound after longer pause during watching movie on Panasonic UHD player). Hopefully this will work for other users of panas players and xmc/rmc-1(L) processors too. Mark

Hi all, Ii anyone else have hiss from from speakers, that can bee hear from 1 meters distance, I have it on all channels from my RMC-1, im running Triangle Magellan speakers and Emotiva DR2 and Emotiva DR3 amps, the funny thing is, im using my DR2 amp for stereo and the same speakers, then the hiss is nearly non existing, but as soon as I connect the rmc to the home theater input and using home theater, then the hiss is the same again. Sorry for my bad english. Hi, I'm new to the Emotiva Lounge - just wanted to add that I have this same issue. I've been meaning to do some testing to determine if the issue is the XMC-2 or my amps or something else. I'm running the XMC-2 to an Outlaw 5000x amp over high quality XLR cables. I previously had an entry level Pioneer receiver VSX-531k I believe so it was an all in one unit and I did not have any hiss from the speakers whatsoever. If you happen to figure out what is causing that I would be interested to hear. Otherwise, I'll do some testing and try to report back with what I find.
