Can you provide more detail? Equipment? Sources? How connected? Just HDMI? When does this happen....switching tv channels....between audio formats...etc. I have slight "dropouts" when switching channels on Directv as the audio changes from say, 5.1 Dolby to PCM 2.0 on another channel, or when commercials change audio formats. This is momentary as the processor syncs audio. Really doesn't bother me. Thanks! The dropouts happen on any source, and do not require switching to trigger. I am just watching something and the dropouts happen. I have had the issue with the following sources: NVIDIA Shield TiVo XBOX Series X I changed HDMI cables and the problem remained. The dropouts are very short audio glitches where the audio blanks out. The picture is not affected, just the audio. Which Firmware is installed? The shield always needs a bit longer as some other devices I own.
But I don't have Drops during the play with the RMC-1.
Looks like some of the devices "talk" within the HDMI - have you disabled ARC and CEC on all your devices?
and of course - I assume that the devices are directly attached to the XMC-2

The Harmony remotes can be set to do this automatically for you, (and possibly other remotes too) You shouldn't have to do this I grant you I know that - but it's more, that Emo answered me that they are not sure what caused the very loud POP (or shall I say Bass Boom), nor have they a resolution for me. If some of the features should not be used, because it could harm my speakers, they should at least mention this - and this is not a question of "how to implemented an automated workaround with my harmony" or am I wrong? It's like every 2nd FW has issues - and with adding new features, new issues come with - not what I expected, but used to it . Yeah...welcome to the wonderful world of firmware updates. You see this with Apple updates also....fix one thing, something else breaks. The problem with mentioning that there maybe an issue with something is that it may not be universal with all users.

Emotiva remote app works on my old IPhone 7. The new app shows the menu as you navigate through it. This is way cool and very helpful if you can’t see well enough to read the menu on the front of the unit 😬 and don’t always have a monitor on. Thanks to everyone who worked on this. Fine job! I also wanted to chime in on the cool-ness of the new iPhone app. It updates the information displayed in the app when you change settings using a different remote or via the faceplate itself. It's really nice to know that the info displayed in the app is always current, regardless of what caused the change. Definitely a huge upgrade over the previous phone app, which I really didn't use. It's also a nice option over the aluminum RMC-1 remote, which I don't use often either due to its back-light-less buttons in my typically dark theater. Given the ability to see everything right on the phone, I might actually turn off the on-screen menus, as they are distracting to others, and just view them on my phone. Thanks Emotiva!

Trying to calibrate with Dirac Live and this is frustrating to say the least. First I get about half way into the speaker level calibration when it crashes. After that Dirac Live is Unavailable from the XMC-2. I unplugged and re-plugged the power.. same thing. Went from bad to worse.
On a Mac 3.0.13. I've read this can be unstable so I just downloaded 3.0.9, however my new problems have nothing to do with this, as it won't even enter Dirac Live on the receiver.
I saw this also after first flashing the latest firmware. It used to (mostly) work before this firmware.
Any ideas?

I experienced lots of crashes on my Mac when uploading the EQ to the RMC-1, and I usually needed to reboot the RMC-1 and the Raspberry Pi and try again, but it would go through. I never had any crashes in the middle of calibration though.

Okay it turned out to be the raspberry pi network cable came loose, probably during calibration. Phew.

I saw this also after first flashing the latest firmware. It used to (mostly) work before this firmware. Any ideas? Unplug the Dirac Interface (EDNIB), reboot the processor, check that it has an IP address, then plug in the EDNIB, wait a minute or two, then check to see if Dirac can be enabled. The processor "might" need a cold boot, no power. Also, these processors NEED one minute of OFF time for a reboot, not 15 seconds. Emotiva keeps saying you don't need to unplug the EDNIB. That would be correct if you want frequent failure. Unplug it until the processor gets its IP address. D3.0.13 will fail at different stages depending on conditions. FYI Because I had the extra bass issue I reverted back to earlier firmware versions last weekend to check some things. I had zero problems with the exercise and zero problems with network and zero problems with enabling Dirac. Before performing any firmware install I disconnected all HDMI and EDNIB, then updated, then at the end of the first auto boot I killed the power for a minute, booted up, factory reset, then a warm boot and reconnected all HDMI and EDNIB. 100% success rate. Dirac 3.0.13 hates FW2.0 and 2.1, but has fewer fails with 2.2 so the fail rate is probably about 80% instead of 98%. Go figure.

DIrac 3.0.13 will fail at different stages depending on conditions. Considering this is known, Dirac are taking a long time to fix this! Is it only affecting Emotiva processors?

It affects other brands, NAD in particular exactly the same way - upon loading filters, with the same result where the filter actually loaded ok and is usable.

So this is cool, been on the latest firmware since it came out. Today I get the 5db subwoofer bump, no setting changes or any other known reason for it to occur. Go figure.

Hi all, I just received my XMC-2 (updated to firmware 2.2). My connection is very simple:
TV (HDMI ARC) is connected to XMC-2 (HDMI ARC Output 2) using Emotiva's high speed HDMI cables. The HDMI ARC works as expected, and I am getting audio from the TV routed to the XMC-2. But, I can't seem to get the OSD to show on my TV. Any ideas?

A couple of thoughts. First, wasn't the DSD-related explosion an old problem, to the extent that a warning was issued to those using a certain firmware revision to NOT play any DSD sources, on pain of broken speakers? If so, it's repeating like last night's vindaloo. Seems like someone unfixed something.
Second thought: I use an HDFury Vertex2, I've had it longer than the RMC-1 but still use it because it's a great solution. HDFury run their support out of AVS Forums, and most questions get a request for a configuration dump so that the support team (person probably) can load it up and troubleshoot. It seems to me that a similar approach could be useful here in some circumstances, the ?MC config backup files are just simple XML. If nothing else, it would take some of the guesswork out of the interaction between a bewildering number of parameter settings.

Coolness maybe but if the 3GP can’t stay alive as the network connection crashes into power off completely being needed it’s no use to anyone. My Xmc-1 was ok in this regard but xmc2 can live for more than 24hrs without needing a full power off.

Firmware 2.2. I just turned all CEC stuff off... I will report back with results. Thank you!

hi guys,
did my first dirac calibration, speakers = small, level = 0db, version 3.0.13. it was a flawed calibration but I uploaded anyway just to experience it. - the program closed right after it was sent (I assumed it crashed) but rmc1 received it. looking around dirac thread, it seems to be norm that it crashed or so.
the result after calibration is quite amazing, I'm delighted but now I have to set my master volume higher by 15-20dB. So, do I have to go to preset and check the speaker spl and set the level higher instead of 0dB?
some curiosity, my main left and right were set to Large prior to calibrate, I was told last time to set it Large as I was having problem getting Ref. Stereo from the knob. I did many reading and watching video guides, Emo. dirac resource links. it should be set to small.
- In Reference Stereo, isn't this supposed to be unaltered and purest form? with Dirac, it sounds flat and compressed.
would appreciate someone could enlighten me.
when you send remote shut down, does the pi still show right LED? because mine does. so not even sure if it is shut down or not.
============= new
just did a proper 2nd calibration with 11 points but now it is crashing at 82%. RMC sees the updated filter but is it a complete one? i tried restarted it and the box and it still crashing at 82%.

Download Dirac v3.0.11 , it is way more stable and doesn’t cause Dirac to crash like v3.0.13 does.

Reference Stereo is always going to deliver the purest form of SIGNAL...
(It also only works with large speakers... since small, by definition, means "using a crossover".)
But that only means that the audio signal itself is pure and unaltered... But a pure and unaltered signal may not sound the best after it passes through your speakers and the acoustics of your room. Dirac Live is going to do its best to make the final result accurate (based on how it measures and analyzes the situation). But, in order to make the final output accurate, it is going to significantly alter the signal.
However:
1) That means that it will make sure a good recording sounds good...
(As best it can, based on its measurements and analysis, and the limitations of your system, and your room.) 2) That also means that it's going to make lousy recordings sound lousy...
(Accurate means that, if there are warts, you'll get to see them in perfect detail.)
3) You may simply not prefer truly accurate sound (Not everyone likes accurate sound... and, beyond even that, it probably isn't what you're familiar with, so it might take getting used to.) (For example, the majority of people prefer a sub level that is slightly boosted, rather than one that is truly accurate.)
Have you ever tasted true lab grade de-ionized water? (The purest and most perfect water available). It tastes very different than what you get from the tap or your favorite bottled water company.
And many people find that it tastes "flat" or "bland" compared to "normal" water. (And, with most bottled water, they either leave stuff in, or add extra stuff later, to make it taste "more normal".)
And, yes, Dirac Live has a habit of dropping the overall level. (This is partly due to the fact that there is a strict limit on how much boost it can apply if ti wants to.) And you can feel free to manually bump up the levels on all channels equally after running Dirac.
