I'm not having much luck with XMC-2 after having XMC-1 working perfectly for 5 years...
My latest problem is the processor has no sound after sitting idle for X hours. If I try anything like change volume or navigate menu, it is really slow (takes like 10 seconds to increase volume by 1). It doesn't make a difference if put it standby when leave or its left on. Putting into standby then on doesn't help.
If I do a full reboot, it starts working again...only to do the same thing the next day. Having to wait for it to boot every time is really annoying.
I'm using the latest firmware and it's only a few weeks old.

The slow bug is a known issue that is being worked on and will happen when something is paused, but your exact scenario might be different. Please tell us what source is connected when it becomes slow, and which tv display or projector model. Is CEC and/or ARC involved? Just confirming, is your firmware version 2.2? When my TiVo is paused, all commands become slow, like changing volume, etc. The same thing happens when a Dolby ATMOS movie is paused in a Panasonic UB820, and if the UB820 is paused for a long time the processor can lockup.

This morning I turned on my XMC-2 and it seemed really slow in response to the remote and wouldn't shutdown via the remote or front switch. I turned it off in the rear and waited several minutes when I restarted it I got this: "err init osd" What next?
Please don't tell me that I am sending it in a "second time" 6 months after purchase.

You are definitely snake-bit....I would say try the rear shutoff again and see if it boots or not....then call Emotiva if it doesn't.

My XMC-1 is on its way to getting traded in on an XMC-2. Looks like the latter has dropped the option for a single back speaker. Can I safely sum using a y cable, or do I need to get a box to do it?

My XMC-1 is on its way to getting traded in on an XMC-2. Looks like the latter has dropped the option for a single back speaker. Can I safely sum using a y cable, or do I need to get a box to do it? I ran (run) a 6.1 system. With XMC-1 I had the option in Dirac to do a single back speaker, but with the RMC-1L and, the Dirac it uses, I do not. There is no 6.1 option with the G3 processors and the Dirac it uses.. I talked with Kieth and he suggested using a Y-cable combiner and it works. Works well. So you will need to connect the L/R rear out puts from the XMC-2 to the one input on your amp connected to your single rear speaker. I found this on Amazon and am using it -COLICOLY XLR Y-Cable, 2 Female to 1 Male XLR Mic Combiner Y Cord Balanced Microphone Adaptor Wire - 1.6ft -tried to link. I'm sure there are others available elsewhere. With XMC-1 the rear speaker was loud during Dirac calibration, but needed to be turned up 3-4db after ward. Using the combiner with the RMC-1 processor the level was good. During Dirac with the RMC-1L the levels were fine before and after, and sounds good. Bottom line is that it works and works well. I was concerned, but turned out I worried for nothing.

The weird thing is it will work beautifully for a week or so without issues and then all of a sudden I will just turn it on to watch something and it starts acting up again for no reason. It's frustrating and weird.

Does anyone leave their RMC-1 and amps on all the time? Good or bad? I do not leave my amps on but turn video remains on (or whatever it is called) that basically keeps the RMC-1 on all the time. The 1+ minute start up time was not appreciated by my family. - Rich

Does anyone leave their RMC-1 and amps on all the time? Good or bad? The processor uses 38 watts when fully on, and 37 watts when in Video Remains On Standby, and <1 watt in Lowest Power Standby. I use VRO for the processor, the solid state amps in standby, and the tube amps off.

DTS X Pro is not in the next round of firmware but it is currently being worked on. I hope that more yeses are entered in the list. And all 16 channels in the upmixer are addressed. Even in DD mode.

just for who's forgetting Outside of D&M, no one has DTS:X Pro actually deployed although everyone has gone on record with plans to do so. Given that, maybe there’s a valid explanation that we’re not aware of... 🤔

Has anyone heard what will be released in this next version and possibly when? Getting tired of checking the site 10 times a day.

Has anyone heard what will be released in this next version and possibly when? Getting tired of checking the site 10 times a day. Refinements to the DD and DTS code, improvements in HDMI ARC functionality and improvements to HDMI reliability in general. There's no DTS:X "Pro" or nothing else that's particularly " new". So if none of this seems to be of any interest, then relax... there's no need to check the site as often as you do...
