In this situation, the most direct answer is by using a universal programmable remote, such as a Harmony, to do the “remote juggling” for you... 😉 I thought they were discontinued? They are... Logitech discontinued the hardware, but as LCSeminole said, they are keeping the support servers running. Personally, I believe they will hold that promise... Remember the "Squeezebox"...? Those devices are still supported. Rumor has it that SVS might have been interested in purchasing Harmony, but I cannot find anything to support that rumor. If anyone is interested, Best Buy still has inventory at "normal" prices. I just bought backups for both my Elite and Companion remotes as well as an additional Hub.

There is an issue with the Balance Analog Inputs on the XMC-2. Today I turn on the XMC-2 (Out of standby) and switch to the Phono input (XLR Balance Input) that is in Reference Stereo mode. I start to play a record (Vinyl LP for youngsters) and the sound is weak, lacking bass and distorted. Like AM Radio. I decide something is wrong, so I do a hard reboot and try again. Once rebooted the sound is night and day better and what I was expecting.
I have experienced this before but didn't know what to make of it.
I have now repeated it and believe there is a bug.
Any thoughts?

Firmware 2.3 out immenently - Podcast said maybe as little as a week out and max 10 days... as usual we have our hopes dashed. Well, it's not like they used the term "consecutive" days. So perhaps we are still waiting for day one to pass Cheer

Anyone know what the maximum input voltage on the balanced (XLR) inputs is?

According to Big Dan in the latest Emotiva Podcast on YouTube, Firmware Version 2.3 will be out in the next 7-10 days. It's now 12 days - and still no News - another wait then ;-)

This forum has turned into a petulant child troll board. What a shame. Depends on the severity of the problems we users deal with. I and others have problems that make wishing/waiting/hoping for a new firmware fix feel like an exercise in futility. We all know that software developement takes time and patience. Maybe Emo needs to consider the old adage "Under promise and over deliver..."

HI,
SO I just got a JVC NX7 in my setup, but I cannot get either my fire tv 2nd gen cube of my roku 2020 Ultra to send anything more than 1080p to the projector (as verified on the "Info" page on the jvc) I have it set to auto as far as input type. I tried setting the input to hdr10 to see if that would tell the streamers that it can handle 4k but that did not work. (I did verify that the material was indeed 4k for streaming, and it was.)
Any idea what is going on? Is there a chance I need to change something on the RMC-1L?
Thanks
God bless... Mark

The switcher in the RMC-1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 works as a simple pass-through, so I'm going to guess it's a setting in the JVC NX7. To verify what is going through your RMC-1L, press the "INFO" button on the remote and see what it says on the front panel of the RMC-1L.

Hi all I realised my XMC-2 doesn't allow me to switch to standby on lowest power. It goes orange and the relay doesn't click. Then when powering on, the Emotiva logo comes on, the line goes to the end, then freezes. I would need to power off with the rocker switch to get it to switch off properly. VRO is ok, but unit gets warm still. Any ideas? Ok, I finally figured out what happenned and the solution. Looks like I stumbled on a little quirk, or bug in the operation logic.
So here's the long story. My power amp is connected to the trigger cable. When starting from low power state, the power amp will be triggered on before the XMC-2 is fully booted. As you all know, there is a relay click towards the end of the "Emotiva" boot sequence. When that happens, I hear a cringing click in all my speakers. So I wanted to find a way to trigger the power amp on only after the XMC-2 has fully started up. The way I did it was to set the power on input to HDMI 8, and disable HDMI 8 from Trigger 1. The poiwer amp never gets switched on as the XMC-2 always starts with HDMI 8. I program my harmony remote to switch to the relevant input after a 60s delay which is when the startup sequence completes. So far so good. Then what else did I do? Well since I don't use half of the inputs, I decided to remove the visibilty of the unused ones which include HDMI 8. And that is what led to the problem.
So it seems by setting the startup input to be HDMI 8, it would also be the last selected input before powering down. That doesn't seem to happen in VRO. The switch only happens when starting the unit from high power standby. I verified it as I can see the video signals switch. Somehow, by removing HDMI 8 from being visible, the XMC-2 can't switch to it when powering down to low power state, and therefore doesn't power down properly. Which then doesn't start properly. I made HDMI 8 visible again, and lo and behold, I can power down properly to LPS and startup as per normal, relay clicks and all.
So mystery solved. the only question is, why is the switch to HDMI 8 when powering off necessitates visibilty while not being the case when starting up, at least from high power standby? Is that super relevant? Not really. But just stumnbled on this quirk. And hope it is helpful for anyone who configure their unit the same way as I am.

He did say unless something pops up (paraphrasing).....patience is needed....I'd rather have the most stable firmware update rather than something that brings the pitchforks out. Amen...!!! Not quite Amen!! In three years we have not had anything approaching a properly stable firmware for all, fully featured as promised or not. We all know in our hearts and minds that another few days are not going to be enough for this to be fine tuned so that it actually materialises. The pitchforks will, I fear, yet be needed, to poke some ire to actually get this processor sorted out. And as one who has repeatedly replied to people with issues to say that you have no issues cawgijoe ..., why would you need a more stable firmware to sort problems that you tell us you don't have.

Well....I probably don't need another firmware.....but I always upload them anyway, figuring there are improvements. I'm not a liar....so I will tell you I have no current issues.....you may not like that, but it's the truth. Likely it's all based on my simple 5.1 system....as you can see below. Sorry that you have problems....hope they get sorted. I doubt that their units will be "perfect" for all and the multitude of variations of equipment and applications....but again, I hope they sort it for most.

The silence is deafening! I and others I am sure, would appreciate an update as to where things stand with the firmware update. I realize Emotiva is damned if they do and damned if they don't, but believe some information at this time is better than none. I have no issues with my RMC-1 but know there is always room for improvement. Also, those suffering through issues could surely use some news.
Besides my RMC-1 I also have a Denon X6700H, a very nice unit. I was using it for several months after having a few minor issues with my RMC. The Denon worked fine! I switched back to the RMC when we were informed that the new update would be out in a week or 10 days. Wanted to be ready when it came out. The interesting thing about this swap out is that the RMC has had none of the minor issues it was having earlier. I have to wonder if some of my connections were loose earlier and when I changed processors the act of reconnecting my HDMI sources fixed any problem I was having.
Regards to all.

Brand new XMC-2 user here. If anyone can help a noob out with the following, and what will probably be some additional questions, I'd really appreciate it.
I set up my Emotiva XMC-2 last night, and I'm having difficulty getting a video signal via HDMI to my projector (Epson 5050ub, a popular model).
I have both a TV (1080p) and a projector (4k), and I had no trouble getting a video signal to the TV. I have tested the HDMI cable that runs to the projector by unplugging it from the XMC-2 and running it directly to my Xbox Series X, thereby bypassing the XMC-2. The signal went from the Xbox to the projector correctly, indicating that the cable is fine.
I have tried:
1. Connecting the projector to HDMI 1 output and the TV to HDMI 2 output. This results in the TV getting a signal, but not the projector.
2. Connecting the projector to HDMI 2 output and the TV to HDMI 1 output. Again, this results in the TV getting a signal, but not the projector.
3. Changing between different HDMI inputs on the XMC-2, with the following devices turned on: Xbox Series X, Amazon Fire Stick 4k, Panasonic UB420 4k blu ray player.
4. Disconnecting the TV HDMI cable and only connecting the projector to HDMI output 1, leaving the HDMI 2 output empty.
5. Leaving the TV HDMI cable disconnected, and only connecting the projector to HDMI output 2, leaving the HDMI 1 output empty.
No matter what, I cannot get an HDMI video signal from the XMC-2 to the projector.
What am I doing wrong here? And how do I fix it?
