RMC-1, LG Ubk90, Fire TV. All played well together last night but now I can't get anything to show up on the TV. If I connect the LG to the TV it works. I tried my old blu ray player in place of the LG and it also doesn't work with the RMC-1 but does with the TV. I've tried both BR players on different HDMI inputs on the RMC-1 and no luck. I have a FireStick that I can plug into any of the RMC-1 HDMI inputs and it works. I unhooked all HDMI connections and powered down the RMC-1 a couple of times. Let it sit and do a full reboot before hooking anything back up. Any thoughts on why my RMC-1 suddenly hates blu ray players? Which tv? If CEC is enabled, turn it all off. Try just the tv and a player connected with nothing else. When in doubt, use the stock Emotiva remote. If the tv is a Sony, and it did a firmware update, then it probably changed its inputs from Enhanced Format back to Standard. I cripple my Sony tv so it doesn't do anything without permission. Reset the player to factory defaults. All CEC is already off. The TV is an Insignia™ - 70" Class F30 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV Model:NS-70DF710NA21 The stock remote didn't help with the issue. I didn't think to reset the player to factory defaults, but it worked the day before and another blu-ray player also didn't work. I wonder if the HDMI board is bad and maybe the FireStick just has more signal strength than a bluray player so it still picks up on it? I have no idea. I'll reset the LG just to try it.

Maybe try a different HDMI input, and if the problem is in 1-4, try one in 5-8. I don’t know if there’s any difference, but it seems like a good thing to try.

Quick suggestion. Emo should let us customize the "rethink high end" banner when its rebooting. Honestly I only see it when stuff isn't working and I'm already frustrated. Probably not the best time for Emo to suggest I rethink my buying decision!

Probably not the best time for Emo to suggest I rethink my buying decision! If you haven't already, try a "Factory Reset". Make sure to "Backup Settings" before doing this. Once you've "Restored Settings" after the "Factory Reset", shut the processor down and cold boot.

Your problem is weird (as if you don't already know) and I'm just spitballing, but just in case- Have you tried a hard reset on the TV ? My LG OLED occasionally needs an unplugging reset along with the RMC-1, especially after it's done an auto firmware update. Have you tried connecting the RMC-1 to a different HDMI input on the TV ? Or the different HDMI out from the RMC-1 ? Or a different HDMI cable ?

Factory reset on the RMC-1 Factory reset on the LG UBK90 Factory reset on the Fire TV
I've tried three different blu-ray players and none work I've tried my laptop via its HDMI out and it didn't work Both do nothing for a bit then flash what the TV should display for a second and then off. Maybe flash it again for a second and then off for good.
I've tried different HDMI cables. My main cables are all 8k spec and copper not fiber (I read that was a problem with the XMC-1 when I googled this issue)
My FireStick works perfect in any of the HDMI inputs. I've tried different BR players in all 8 HDMI's and they don't work. I connect the BR players directly to the TV and they work fine. I've tried the about everything I can think of.
If the FireStick didn't work I'd just assume the HDMI board died. But now I just don't know....
I changed the TV's input to HDMI 2 with no ARC. Then the RMC-1 locked up.
A full reboot again and not using the TV's ARC didn't help.
Then I switched from the RMC-1s HDMI 2 output to HDMI 1 output thinking that will totally take care of an ARC/CEC issues. Before I make the changed I shut the TV off, changed to RMC-1 HDMI 1 output and then turned the TV on so they could have a solid handshake. I'm getting nothing out of that output at all.
I'm at a loss. My gut instinct is the HDMI board has issues. I'll call Emo on Monday for tech support.

Download a new copy of the newest firmware and do a new firmware upload to the RMC-1. In addition to the Emo instructions, remove all HDMI connections before starting. Probably won't work, but might be worth a try until you can talk to Emo techs.

I bought it with the latest firmware. I'm just listening to music and relaxing now. I'm probably done until Monday trying anymore on the HT side.

My RMC-1 was very picky with cables, they would work fine direct to the TV, but not work on the RMC.

If you have a 10 feet cable from the processor to the TV and add a 6 feet cable from the source to the processor you will effectively use a 16 feet cable. Then you also have the connectors between each cable. If you aren’t using really good cables some transfers might hick up sometimes with passive cables. Of course CEC and ARC probably won’t help either.. Carbonsummits issue probably is hardware related though..

If so(and just a shot in the dark), but are the HDMI inputs "HDMI TYPE" set to "2.0" ?

But I have other cable that say high speed with ethernet on them and they don't work either. Unless the RMC-1 is THAT picky that is like Russian Roulette finding cables that work...

I wasn't saying I thought the RMC-1 was or should strengthen the HDMI signals, just was saying that something must be different with the FireSticks output signal that maybe is stronger or something that the RMC-1 still sees it fine.
Cable length is a concern of mine now. I read with 4k 10' is supposed to be the max length. To hid the cable going to the TV I put a HDMI and power plug behind the TV and then one down behind the entertainment center. So there are 6' cables in the walls connecting top to bottom. From the top there are 3' cables connecting the wall plug to the TV and from the lower plugs there are 3' cables connecting the RMC-1 to the wall pugs. So I'm over at 12'. But... It did work just fine for days. I'd think it would either work or not. If I found 4' HDMI cables I might be able to make them work, it would be tight. I just went 6' because its a common size. But again it was working just fine.
But to trouble shoot the situation I went directly from the Blu-ray to the RMC-1 and then RMC-1 directly to the TV with a 6' HDMI cable bypassing the in wall stuff and it still didn't work.
Both ARC and CEC are turned off on the TV, and CEC is turned off on the RMC-1.

Great idea. I went back and turned one of the inputs to 1.4 and still had the RMC-1 hooked directly to the TV instead of through the in wall HDMI cable I mentioned above. Still didn't work.

The million dollar question is why does it still work with the FireStick inserted in any of the HDMI inputs but my laptop and a handful of blu-ray players won't?

I've been following the HDfury support thread closely and 99% of the issues are due to cables. The common theme is that Monoprice Cables and a lot on Amazon are hit or miss. I have a box of cables that work to some degree.
In my case, the RMC was the issue, Connecting direct from the Source to the TV would sync, putting the RMC in the middle caused a lot of issues.
FYI - HDFury recommends Zeskit and Cable Matter cables. Both are available on Amazon and can be easily returned. The Cable Matter cables are dirt cheap.
It's very possible that you have HW issues, but you might want to get some new cables and try them before you send the unit back to the Mothership.

OH yeah I forgot to mention this morning I went back to Best Buy and exchanged the LG UBK90 for a new one just in case that was the issue and the new one has the same issues. I really am out of ideas now.
Hopefully if its the HDMI board its something I can swap at home and not have to send it in.

Since your RMC-1 was the issue, what was done to fix it? Did you have to send it back in?

I added a HDMI extension adapter which in itself might hurt the signal as it comes from my FireStick to the RMC-1 and then used one of the Amazon cables in question and hooked it back up to the RMC-1. The Firestick works just fine on that cable.
