Having a tough night. For the first time ever for me, my RMC-1L is stuck in RMC starting mode and one of my XPA-1L amps is going into fault mode, even if I remove speaker wires and input
Not sure how to fix the stuck in RMC starting mode
Nothing in my system has been touched or changed for 6 months, so odd….have not had this issue ever prior to today

Then turning it on again. First without anything connected to it.

Once in awhile my RMC-1L starts up without the Emotiva logo, just the starting bar. When I go into the menu all of the text is gibberish. Unplugging fixes this, for awhile. Just another glitch I guess.

Just another glitch I guess. I get the blue line only with no Emotiva logo if the processor has been off for a day or so but I don't get the gibberish in the menu. Everything is fine when it completes.

Happy Memorial Day weekend to All!!
I noticed a few days ago that my XMC-2 was a bit laggy responding to remote control commands.
Yesterday, utilizing my normal start up protocols, when HBOMax came up, there was zero audio.
Shut down Roku, LG TV, XMC-2. Flipped power switch on back of XMC-2.
Rethink high end and start up bar progressed normally.
EMO power button flickered, unit powers into some sort of soft mode but does not power down, amp powers normally.
Powered everything off again. Removed power cable from XMC-2, waited twenty minutes.
Restarted again. Same result. XMC-2 bricked?
Any suggestions? I have not updated software in quite a while. Thanks!

I’m not the expert you want responding on this, but did you try physically disconnecting all hdmi sources before powering it back on? If not, I’d try that, and if powering on seems to complete normally, power back down and reconnect your hdmi cables. Hopefully the next restart allows audio…

Thank you for the advice.
Powered XMC-2 off via rear switch.
Disconnected ALL HDMI cables.
Powered XMC-2 on. Rethink High End Message lights up.
XMC-2 screen goes black.
Nagging feeling this unit will enjoy a trip to sunny Franklin....
If that is the end result, any upgrades I should request?

Have you tried the dim button on the remote?

Nagging feeling this unit will enjoy a trip to sunny Franklin.... If that is the end result, any upgrades I should request? Then do the "last resort" routine. Run the Loopback Test. But please, when we say to wait AT LEAST three full minutes, don't waste your time starting the test early because it will fail. The internals of the processor need to ALL be in full operating condition for the tests to work properly. Emotiva used to say wait two minutes, but since the last firmware update it seems to need more time. Turn off the Rear Power Switch on the rear of the processor. Wait a minute. Press the Front Power Button and HOLD IT . . . Switch on the Rear Power Switch while holding the front power button . . . When the Front Panel Display populates with a list of tests, release the front power button. =============================== Wait AT LEAST three full minutes. =============================== Arrow down to #4, Loopback Test, then arrow Right to start. If the Loopback Test fails, run it again. You can arrow left to get back to the list, then arrow right to run it again. If something is not quite right with the processor it might cause a false fail, so waiting longer, many minutes longer like 5 or 10 minutes, might result in a Pass, which might get the processor working again. You don't need to switch off again, just wait at the listing of tests and keep repeating #4.

Hmmmmm. Perhaps I spoke too soon.
In the midst of prepping a submission for Emotiva support, the help desk ticket requested the serial number for my XMC-2.
As I searched for the serial plate, I noticed the unit screen was functioning properly.
Gremlins are afoot!
Powered down, reconnected cables and restarted.
All is well.
Had a physics professor tell me that computers and electronics are like toilets.
They need to be flushed daily.
Thanks to ALL and THANKS FOR OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN.

So the saga continues....worked with Grant at Emotiva Support to continue chasing the gremlins. Grant has been very gracious and helpful.
Attempted to update firmware on XMC-2. Utilized thumb drive Emotiva provided.
FAT32, download update, save to thumb drive, insert XMC-2.
Settings; Advanced; Firmware update; No USB. No USB File. Can't select up, can't select left to confirm.
Multiple downloads, multiple thumb drives, same result.
Suggestions?

1. Sorry... but... try a few more thumb drives.
2. I assume you know that it won't work if the drive has been formatted on an Apple computer.
3. There is a VERY slight possibility that the front USB port has become disconnected. If you haven't already then try the rear panel USB port... it is directly connected to the board (the front one is connected through a ribbon cable).

Thank you for the insight!
Actually thought about looking for a rear USB but gave up and had another Scotch.
Appreciate your time!

Many thanks to Grant and KeithL for the support!
After several reformatting cycles, downloads and restarts, SUCCESS!
My XMC-2 recognized the thumb drive and completed the firmware update cycle.
Gremlins held at bay!
Thanks to ALL!
