Hopefully you will be able to throw out the rubber chicken soon.... If he doesn't have the kit or the firmware yet, how does he even know he'll need the chicken? I haven't. True....hopefully the new firmware will be out and he won't need that chicken!

I see the problem... everyone knows you need a real chicken. Using a rubber chicken just insults the Voodoo Gods...

I have a RMC-1 purchased in the UK in March 2019. I have version 2.0 running with VOS power setting. I have no Dirac as yet as I have heard nothing from my UK dealer.
I have recently started to have random audio drop outs lasting 3-4 seconds whilst listening to audio. I have an Oppo 205 and it makes no difference whether playing a disc or playing my audio files from a usb Hard drive.
I have never had this problem before and I never noticed it when I first updated to 2.0.
I have swapped HDMI cables and also used my ZAPPITI audio player on a different input with a different hdmi cable playing audio files on a different USB hard drive. The fault is still there and the random drop outs occur at different times. Sometimes I can play 5 or more tracks without incident , other times it can drop our 2 to 3 times on any given track.
If I use the usb Dac audio connection from my Laptop to my oppo and play through the analogue outputs, there is no problem.
I even resorted to version 1.10 to see if that resolved the problem, but it hasn't. I then went through the step by step re=installation of version 2.0.
I have had no issues when playing movies on Dolby digital/ATMOS/ dts etc...All play fine with no loss of video or audio...This is entirely a music issue.
Has anyone else encountered these problems?

I thought the issue had resolved itself by unplugging the Oppo and Zappiti and reconnecting, but they both still have the same audio drop out issues

Any realistic estimate as when the next firmware version will actually become available?

Any realistic estimate as when the next firmware version will actually become available? I suggest consulting the 'Magic 8 Ball'. In other words, your guess is as good as mine, but hopefully soon. Next version is currently undergoing stress testing with Beta testers so keep fingers crossed we are getting close.

I have a RMC-1 purchased in the UK in March 2019. I have version 2.0 running with VOS power setting. I have no Dirac as yet as I have heard nothing from my UK dealer. I contacted the German Dealer - they are still talking of about 8 weeks but for sure "by end of this year" to get Dirac including the LBB. I know that the 2.0 is not working properly - but waiting until end of 2020 to get at least Dirac working is a very very long time.
This is confusing - and I'm still scared about if the RMC-1 never really proper working is aspect to resell the RMC-1 one rainy day. So only thing to do is waiting (again) and hoping that I'll get the stuff and soon a new FW is then solving all the issues. For me - it's just: work as in FW 1.10, without the noisy clicks when switching TV Channels (like DD 2.0 to 5.1 or 5.0 and back) - and of course Dirac can be used.

I have now had the XMC-2 for a a couple weeks. While I have not had an issue with audio drop out, I have had issues with video lock while switching inputs. I have hard coded HDMI 2 vs 1.4 for the inputs but still have the problem. Doing a power standby and wake up seems to resolve the issue.
Is this a known issue? Overall I can live with it, but hope for improvements as we go.

Problems with 2.0? Try 2.1. Just posted. Do we also do the full factory reset if upgrading from 2.0 to 2.1? Also if I do the reset do I need to reload the Dirac filters?

Problems with 2.0? Try 2.1. Just posted. Do we also do the full factory reset if upgrading from 2.0 to 2.1? Also if I do the reset do I need to reload the Dirac filters? Yes. I've been doing Factory Resets since having problems months ago and it was the Factory Reset that cleared it due to re-initializing everything. I'm actually writing up my current experience with updating to this FW-2.1 on the Owner's thread. I'll be posting in a few minutes. So the bottom line is, with all new firmware I always Factory Reset. Also, I had a problem with my TiVo and Apple TV because I did not power cycle them after updating to FW-2.1. But since power cycling everything at the same time, no problems.

First impressions of v. 2.1. 1. Audio is more stable, but not perfect. a. If I pause a source for several minutes (more than 3) the unit randomly locks up. Changing sources/formats does not fix the problem. However, I am able to recover audio by using a front panel reset vs. a hard power reset as was needed with v. 2.0. 2. DTS: Nerual X vs. DSU much improved - less volume mismatch and no weird static sounds. 3. Menu is faster - except when audio fails, then it takes several seconds to respond to commands. Haven't tried Dirac yet, will post impressions later.
