Can someone at Emotiva please let us know they are aware of some of the Firmware 2.0 issues and are working on getting it at least back to Firmware 1.10 level of stability? Yes, we are working on the audio drop, digging deep to figure out what Is going on. Lonnie Hoping something is being done about the lockups as well. My XMC-2 is unuseable with version 2.0. Works perfect with 1.10

True but I don't want to speculate. Don't want to be a complainer but the unit is completely unusable for me with the version 2 firmware.

They know about the issue. That being said, what makes your unit completely unusable? I apologize if you mentioned what it was earlier.

When it is on version 2 90% of the time I can't even turn it on because it locks up on "boot up". It gets stuck at the please wait screen. End up having to turn it off and one many times before I can get it to work at all. Also notice on version 2 the pass through audio isn't working when I have the XMC-2 on stand by. Was solid with my projector on version 2 (moved to a new house so not using the projector yet that is a project but with my panasonic plasma I have all these issues. The TV is just 1080P and been using my comcast cable box as the source (same box as with the projector). Only change in the system is the TV but the XMC-2 should work with that.

The boot up part is worrisome. I don't experience that. I'm using VRO, but even if I don't they XMC-2 boots up fine. I'm sure you have been asked this, but does your TV have CEC or ARC? I'm wondering if that is creating an issue with the TV. Have you tried reloading 1.10 to see if it becomes stable/usable again?

Back in the days of struggling with the XMC-1 after the HDMI "v3" upgrade, we often found that flashing the firmware "twice" seemed to fix a majority of odd post upgrade issues. Especially those issues where we all didn't experience the same problem(s).
I wonder if doing the same thing here (install 2.0 > factory reset > re-flash 2.0) would help...?

You can only change the input settings for either HDMI 1.4 or 2.0, but if your source is only HDMI 1.4 as most cable boxes are you for sure would want that setting to be 1.4 on its input, my projector is 1080p(1.4 HDMI) but my sources are HDMI 2.0 capable other than my HD Blu-ray player. I have my Nvidia Shield and Mac Mini set to 2.0 and my LG Blu-ray at 1.4, I'm guessing I can set the Mac and Shield to either since my display is only 1.4, I asked Lonnie about this but never heard back. Chad I think the trick is if you are having an issue, try the other option.

I have actually found this to be the same on the XMC2, I had to flash firmware multiple times but eventually it fixed an low power mode issue I was having. Definitely worth a shot if anyone is having these unusual problems.

That should not make sense... the firmware is checksummed... no matter how many times you apply it, if it succeeds it should be the same result *. Note I said, it should... so I am not saying you are wrong, but as a softweare developer who has written plenty of firmware patches and upgrades, this does not make sense to me.
* Yes, there is a possibility of a startup memory corruption after F/W update... but I don't see the kind of reports that would suggest that is the case
