The problem with audio loss/lockup is that it is painfully reminiscent of the very beginnings v. 1.0; thankfully minus the random scarry static noise. I wonder if they have reverted some settings back to where we started thinking that with a larger install base problems like mine become statistically less significant. There's no information I can give Emotiva that I haven't already given them on multiple occasions. I've tried to troubleshoot things with Lonnie 2-3 times in the past. The fact that I'm not the only one having problems with audio loss should mean Emo will have less difficulty duplicating it - still leaves one shaking their head as to why it didn't show up during beta. Emo obiously needs a greater variety of beta testers, a LOT more (...then again, some would say us users have served that function). It did show up with the testers......you are not alone......they know about it... So why release the new firmware without a caveat? On the 2.0 firmware download page, Emotiva should have said: Firmware 2.0 is work in progress. It will however enable Dirac Live functioning, albeit at a cost to other functioning. Install 2.0 only if you have the Dirac connection hardware AND want to use Dirac Live, but please accept it has introduced new problems not present in 1.10, some of which we are aware of, the rest we will leave it for users to find. Those not able/needing to run Dirac Live should continue to use 1.10 unless they want to help us find all of the existing and new problems in 2.0

My guess is that if they did, 99.9% of owners would have updated anyway. If you know anything about firmware, you know that it's always a work in progress. Biggies like Apple with huge resources are constantly introducing new firmware and there seem to always be items that are fixed and new problems introduced. This is not news. Emotiva has been waiting a long time to release Dirac. Customers have been pounding their pitchforks. I'm sure they felt that it was now appropriate to do so even with risk. Again...at least for me the MAJOR problem is lost audio that occurs intermittently. It was there for me with 1.10, except that I could switch inputs to bring it back rather then have to reboot. It's a pain in the *bleep*, but I'm positive it will be fixed. At the moment with my system, I don't have any other issues.

A list of items fixed and a list of known issues? Huh. That's a great idea and sounds like something that would be quite informative. ☺

I always like that with any company's firmware update. Unfortunately a majority don't do that.

I may have a rigid view on it, but I think any company or group of people serious about what they are doing track and publicize this list.

Hello,
I also had the lost of audio. After stopping a recorded TV show audio was gone away. The only thing that helped was hard switch off the XMC-2 and disconnect all hdmi cables.

Had loss of audio three times yesterday. I really don't know if it's an impression but it seems to me that over the time the problem reappear more rapidly than the first times. One thing for sure, it is very annoying and makes me crazy.

I may be way off base here, but this loss of audio 'seems' to be affecting the XMC-2 more than the RMC's. Just trying to come up with a common factor that may help figure out what is going on with this issue.

A suggestion:
Between this and RMC, Emo may wish to open a call center.......

Yes, I thought so too apart from some extra dual mono DAC's on more circuits and the dual front panels which is why I was surprised at the latest info regarding XMC-2 only in the 2.0 firmware update instructions: SPECIAL UPDATE NOTE FOR ONLY XMC-2 OWNERS Due to the way this update interacts with the hardware in the XMC-2 there is a special note for running Dirac Live. When you enable the connection to Dirac Live in the speaker preset your amplifiers will be triggered off. Therefore - before running Dirac Live on an XMC-2 with this firmware release installed... Temporarily disconnect the trigger connections on your amplifiers and turn your amplifiers on manually. (this is only necessary while the connection between your XMC-2, the Dirac Live network interface box, and your computer, is enabled.)

All these reported issues in 2.0 on top of the issues I already have really got to me. I was already on the fence but was willing to wait for Dirac just bc I’m anxious to try it. But doesn’t make sense to use it while checking the calendar to make sure my 30 days aren’t up. So just boxed it back up. I have a comparable unit coming tomorrow or Friday so will see how that goes. I do love this forum though. Definitely best community I’ve been a part of. If anyone is interested how it works out or compares feel free to message me. Funny thing is right after I finished boxing it I saw an email that my Dirac kit shipped.

I had ordered the XMC1 to XMC2 tradeup back in late may but it took me a minute to get the XMC1 box out of storage and pack it up and send it off. I finally got around to it a couple of weeks ago. I got notice this week that my XMC2 and the dirac live kit were shipping and I should have the unit on friday and the kit on saturday. Question is... do I update to 2.0 or not? I was thinking to set it all up as is and test everything. If all is solid, then perform the update. I had no issues with my XMC1 and I'm not about to update to 4k yet, but I had never updated the XMC1 hardware so when I decided to get the board, it was unavailable. The tradeup became available first so I just did that instead. Do you guys who went from XMC1 to G3P notice a difference in audio quality?

Yes absolutely, the question is why the trigger board is disabled during Dirac setting up only on the XMC-2 and not the RMC, isn't supposed to be the same plateforme and software?

Really don't care, just letting folks know they don't have to disconnect the triggered.
