Excellent room treatment you got there. Congrats Thanks! It's a dramatic improvement; therefore, a good investment. I have another pair of panels for the side walls on order, should be here towards the end of the month and I'm toying with a couple of ideas to complete the rear wall around my desk.

I just finished to cover the last corner that the door didn’t let me put a tri trap. Fixed the slightly channel unbalane that the room had.

Can't tell by your profile picture, but did you purchase or go DIY? Based on the name you used, tri-trap, I assume GiK... just curious.

Not very handy with stuff that want to look good, lol

Great review so far LuisV! I told you you would like those Baldwin/Raytheon tubes. They are definitely my go-to tubes. And speaking of tubes, I decided to pull my RCA 6C8G's and Baldwin/Raytheon 6SN7's to give them a rest for a bit. In their place I put the CBS tubes on the left and the Sylvania JAN's on the right. After about 2 minutes of them running, I was in the kitchen making a cup of coffee when all of a sudden, I heard something that sounded like a droning kettle drum, luckily not loud or damaging or anything like that. I got to the preamp and turn the volume down and the sound remains. It's only coming from the left channel, so I know it's a "front" tube. I very gently touch all of the tubes and in doing so, I clearly hear my finger touch coming through the left speaker. Power the tubes down, swap the two Sylvania tubes only, fire the tubes back up, and after a couple of minutes, the noise moves to the right channel, but it's a slightly different noise now. I very lightly tap the tube and it begins to resonate almost like acoustic feedback from a microphone being too close to a speaker. One of my Sylvania JAN tubes has become noisy and highly microphonic! And I say highly because I could just barely touch any surface on the preamp and hear it come through the speaker. Heck, even lightly touching/tapping the top shelf that the preamp is on I could hear it. What a shame. And I only have maybe 200 - 300 hours on them at most. So after powering down the tubes again and letting them cool off for a couple minutes, I pulled the JAN tubes and put them back in their boxes, making a note on the one that it is the bad one. I then put the CBS tubes on the right and brought out the stock JJ tubes and put a pair of them on the left. These little CBS tubes also sound great, and the JJ's don't do bad on the left side, since that side isn't anywhere near as critical to the sound as the right. So I'll run the system like this for a while.

Every now and then I think about getting back into surround, but stereo is so easy and satisfying.

All the serious stuff emanates from my multi channel audio system in the main room. Two channel works great in the kitchen(two channels from one Wi-Fi speaker).

After being lost in the mail for a little over a month, the Raytheon 6SN7GTB medium bottle with black plates and halo getter showed up in my mailbox. Now I need to rotate these in and do more listening...

Once the lost and found medium bottle Raytheons bake, I'll cook those cool looking RCAs and will do a bake off and post more in depth comments. Sorry to hear about your tube issue, but glad you caught the it quickly. I have CBS 6SN7GTB 2-Hole Bad Boy Plates tubes and those are are ranked 2nd thus far... they did sound very good. BTW awesome pic of your Freya... seems like i need to step it up a notch with my picture taking... lol

Yeah, considering those particular Sylvania's are JAN tubes, I would have expected them to outlast the other tubes in my collection, but things happen. Could have been worse I suppose. And thank you on the picture compliment. It was taken with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ as are all of my pics. It's quite the capable "camera" which I mostly use it for. LOL

I only turn them on when I get home from work on Fridays, then they stay on until Sunday evenings before I head to bed. So Monday through Thursday, I listen without the tubes, but the system is always up and running 24/7, even when everyone is sound asleep or gone to work. The cats are always home, so they always have good tunes to listen to throughout the day.

Well after our talk here, I went searching for some tubes, and ended up going a totally different route. Instead of more 6SN7's, I ordered some gold tube adapters to go from a 6SN7 to a 12AU7. The tubes are a pair of Raytheon/Baldwin long black plate 12AU7's, matched of course.
