So I started this thread because I was considering the B1+ for a 5.1 home theater setup. Eventually I decided to go with the Klipsch RP-600M instead.
Here's where I'm at, in my setup:
So right now, what I have on the way:
Emotiva C2+ center channel SVS SB-2000 Pro Piano Black
What I have set up right now:
Front RP-600M Piano Black Yamaha TSR-700 AVR (the Denon had audio drop outs so I returned it) Stands
To be set up:
* Rear Klipsch RP-600M Piano Black
* A custom monitor riser made from pine. I will need someone's help to lift my 75 lb plasma TV on top of it, then put the center channel underneath the monitor riser.
Maybe I'll do that at the same time as when I invite someone over to watch/listen to the concert Blu Ray, and try this whole system out.

The Yamaha AVR has "DSP Profiles". What exactly are the differences between some of these? usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/3/1335553/web_AV19-0030_RX-V6A_ug_UCRABGLFPH_En_A0.pdfPages 103 - 110. What's the difference between Straight Decode, Surround Decode, and Pure Direct? Especially Straight vs. Surround. From the manual: What about Hall In Munich vs. Hall In Vienna vs. The Roxy Theater? Can someone explain, in their own words, what they think the differences will produce?

How do I know if I like my center channel? Or is there anything that I can play that will test it out? Either some broadcast, some music, or something? Something that I can listen / hear to to see if it performs?
For the front and rear speakers, I listened to music and would listen for certain sounds.
For the subwoofer, I know what to listen for.
But I don't know what to listen for in a center channel.
I did listen to music upmixed to 5.1 using the Surround Decoder, so I know it worked.
I also tried these YouTube tests, which ensured that I had connected everything properly:

Any advice on the following?
My PC is connected to the AVR via HDMI. From the AVR, I connect to the TV.
When my TV is off, and I play a CD on my PC, then I can upmix it to the surround decoder. And all my speakers are used.
When my TV is on, and I play the CD, then the AVR says PCM, and the surrounds aren't used.
HOWEVER, if I play a DVD or Blu Ray, and my TV is on, then I am getting the surround decoder I want.
For both the CD and DVD, I'm using VLC Player.
When my TV is off, then in Windows, for the output sound device, I have to select the name of my AVR. When my TV is on, then I have to select the name of my TV for the output sound device in Windows.

Good news. After a 3 hour, 1 minute call with Yamaha (on hold for most of it), they found the solution.
When my TV is on, and I am playing music, I use "All Channel Stereo" sound mode. That will send the sound to all my speakers, from my PC.

From 1998-2016, I had a 44 watt subwoofer with my computer speakers, and I was happy with it. It wore down in 2016.
I just got a SVS SB-2000 Pro for a home theater.
My room is about 21.5' L x 12' W' with a upwards sloping ceiling that probably goes 12-14 feet high.
For some content, with my sub near the TV and me on the couch, the SB-2000 Pro isn't producing the output that I want. I already increased the volume on the app to 0dB; set the bass tone control to high on the AVR; and set the AVR sub volume to +6 dB.
I don't think I want to stress it more. It is fine for some content, but there is one track where I want more, and that was something I could do with my old subwoofer.
I don't want dual subwoofers. And I don't want something extremely heavy, as it is difficult for one person to move around or set up.
I want to stick with another SVS for comparison. I had already ruled out Hsu due to weight and how some models were backordered. I also ruled out Rythmik due to similar weights of their models (69-80 lbs.)
The SVS representative suggested the PB-16 Ultra, but that is $2500, and also 174 lbs.
The rep thinks the high ceiling might be an issue.
What do you think about the SVS PB-2000 Pro (ported, 64 lbs), the PC-2000 Pro (ported, cylindrical, 47 lbs.), or the PB-3000 (ported, 82 lbs)?
The PB-3000 seems too heavy again, and is also $500 more.
So I think it's down to SVS PB-2000 Pro or PC-2000 Pro.

You say you don't want dual subwoofers but for a more even response in ones room this is the way to go, I'll never own only one sub again.

You say you don't want dual subwoofers but for a more even response in ones room this is the way to go, I'll never own only one sub again. I might reach that point someday.
But right now, given how I have a fireplace, computer, TV, 3 couches, sliding door, a 40"x53" coffee table, and home theater speakers, all in one room, it's hard to find space for multiple big subwoofers.
That doesn't even include 2 more tables.
I had a hard time to figure out a way to not use wireless surrounds. I finally accepted running speaker wire across part of the floor, due to the greater simplicity and sound quality of wired surrounds. There isn't a way to run one certain speaker wire across the wall, so I have to have it across the floor.
So for now, I am trying to figure out a way with one sub.
BTW, what room size do you have (length x width x height in feet)? And what model subs do you have?

I'm having trouble playing music with my sub, from my PC.
I don't have a 2.1 mode in my sound settings.
I set it to 5.1, then on the next screen, unselected center channel, and rear speakers.
Then it asks which speakers are full range. At first I unselected both front and subwoofer.
However it still didn't sound like it was using the sub.
So I went through the configuration again, and selected them both as full range.
It still didn't sound like it was using the sub.
Also, I tried connecting both RCA to the LFE inputs on my sub, as well as connecting only the red one.
It still didn't sound like it was using the sub.
I can hear the dialog and music, it just doesn't seem to be using the sub.
BTW, I am now on a PB-2000 Pro.
Ok, I opened up SupremeFX and selected "enable bass management".
When I do the audio test, everything sounds right. Left Channel, right channel, subwoofer.
But when I play something, it doesn't sound right.
I even tried the setting to "swap center / subwoofer output" that's in the SupremeFX.

I got the VTF-3. It didn't have much sound, even when I moved the dial to 2 o clock.
After a few calls, they sent me a new amp.
It's a little better, but not much. If I move it past 12 o clock, I hear too much rattling of internal components, but still low output.
I've been able to use the same receiver settings and same cable with the two SVS subs I have. I'm returning the SB 2000 Pro. It's down to the PB 2000 Pro or this Hsu.
I haven't heard back from Hsu in over a day.
I left another voice mail, and sent an email.
The clock is ticking on my PB 2000 Pro trial period.
I checked the crossover settings, phase settings. Hsu had me to a tap test where I unplug the RCA cable from the receiver and I tap it. I hear a light hum then.
