Good news, as reported elsewhere, the Richard Lesniak iOS and iPadOS Remote Apps for the RMC-1, RMC-1L, XMC-2, AND XMC-1 have been updated. As such I felt we needed a new thread to make it easier to find and post info on this version. The new version 3.x is compatible with iPhones and iPads running iOS / iPadOS 11.0 or later — this means devices older than the iPhone 5S, and iPad Air, won’t be able to run this version (but may still be compatible with the 1.x version). Additionally, due to the new functionality built into Apple Macs with the M1 chip and macOS 11 (Big Sur), this version will also run on the new M1 Macs (as will many iOS and iPadOS Apps). Since I won’t be back home for another month, I can’t test these new versions yet, but will document the developer information here. I hope others will comment on, or review the new app in this thread. The next two posts will include details on the new iOS and iPadOS versions, I will also link the previous thread to this one. If you want to discuss the original Version 1 App, please continue to use the older thread <<< Here >>>Note: I am not aware if the Android version of the App has been updated as well, if it has it can also be discussed here. Edit: Added a running compatibility post to see if you can expect the App to work, also read this post if you’d like to report your success or failure.> Emotiva Remote App Compatibility Post

Haven't had any issues as of yet, but will report if I do.

On my iPad Pro I can’t see a way to select the second tier of controls. Settings and Zone 2 do not show up on the iPad. They do appear and work correctly on my iPhone.

The 2 layouts are different between the iPad and iPhone… on the iPhone there is a settings button which has things like loudness. On the iPad some of those are moved higher to buttons, like Zone 2 and tuner, but loudness is nowhere to be found on iPad.

It doesn’t seem that any control features have been added to V3, just OS compatibility and model detection.

It's a shame... they should match in capability, but I'm glad they at least work.

Curious hopefully version 14.5 does not make things go the wrong way.

Hopefully, if the G3P API is ever published, the additional capabilities can be exploited by a Harmony or other universal remote — a custom app would be even better. But yes, at least we have a working app again.

Curious hopefully version 14.5 does not make things go the wrong way. It took 5 years for Apple hardware and OS’ to become incompatible with the previous version, I’d be very surprised for anything to break this quickly. I think the problem melm had was probably a NIC communication issue which was solved by a reboot. It’s also worth mentioning a ‘power off’ reboot should always be at least 30 seconds for the NIC to restart properly (stated by Keith), I wait about a minute.

Hey,
Just found the app for android and it is not updated but it do work with my XMC-2. Did hit some issue after changing mode with it and it got stuck at PCM 0.0. Never seen that issue before so I guess the app play some role in it. It also stop respond to the app and after full shutdown it started up all working. Currently on 2.1.
There are warnings when installing the app from play store about it is old..
Cheers Carl

I briefly used the apps last night and I find them useful since I can turn my TV to listen to music now and can easily see where the volume is at (my XMC2 is obstructed).
I’ll take it!

Anyone know if there will be an Android version? Or who to ask about it?
Ta.

Agreed, the feedback / status / display of the Emotiva Remote App is possibly its best feature, and one that no other App I’m aware of has equaled.

Every time I see this thread pop up, I get excited, only to discover Android is not included in the update.... and then I am very sad.
