Here’s a shot of the menu we’re talking about on the iPhone, it’s especially nice on the iOS version to have the Menu button to bring the Menu up, don’t understand why it was left off the iPadOS version, fortunately both have the navigation buttons. Edit: Turns out the problem with the iPad version is my eyes, the Menu and Info buttons are clearly there above and below the volume control.

I recently switched from an Android to iPhone 6s Plus, and installed this app last night. Worked well! Only got to test for a few minutes, will do more testing this weekend with my XMC-2.

ElectricKoolAid & Cory Cooper gave me an idea, I’ll use this post to document Emotiva Remote App compatibility with various models of iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. As people report their models I’ll update this post and link it from the first post. We can use this for all devices and all versions of the App, so please post: Device Model, OS Version, Processor Model, App Ver, Status Post negative or intermittent results as well to help identify where work is needed (though understand it may be NIC, not App related). If you remember older versions, you can post those too, and I’ll go back through this thread and pick out anything I can find. I’ll start, so my first entry would be: iPhone X, 14.6, RMC-1, 3.0, OK Emotiva Remote App — Device Compatibility Table

So can I put you down as OK for an order of iPhone X, heavy on the 14.6, with a side of 3.0 on an RMC-1? 😁

Excellent idea.
NOTE: The Mac mini (M1, 2020) is the current model with the Apple Silicon M1 processor - iOS apps will only run on Apple Silicon Macs, they will not run on any Intel-based models.

Android now have 70% of the market and Emotiva are only support Apple IOS..
Emotiva have lost me
Anyone can point me to any info on how to fault find the old Android app, mainly not picking up my XMC-2 on the network.

I posted this in the owners thread for general network info on the processors, important here too. I did have problems with Ethernet or NIC and the iOS Remote App, in the early days of the RMC-1, also for some time when the processor was doing something difficult, like playing a 4K disk with Atmos, it would go from working to unresponsive. Those problems seemed to clear up for me last summer/fall sometime, and Remote App V3 has been pretty solid for me. I use LPS (low power standby), don’t know if those having trouble might use VRO (video remains on), I just mention that because regardless of your problem it’s a great place to start troubleshooting). Also it’s been mentioned here before, and in the FW update readme, that if you power off your G3P you should leave it off at least 30 seconds, I do a minute, otherwise the NIC won’t start up properly. Mentioned too you should be able to ‘ping’ the address of your processor, if you use a reserved address it will be easier to remember what that is, and the app may have an easier time finding the box. If you want to go deeper you can get a network scanner to run on your phone, tablet, pc, or Mac. I use ‘Network Analyzer’ on iOS and iPadOS, and LAN Scan on Mac. I did a port scan sometime back and there’s not a lot to see, I think the Remote service is running on port 7100. You should see your G3P in the list of devices when you scan your network, if you then do a port scan on that address, you should see ports 22 (ssh) & 7100 open. If that’s what you find, the app should work (ar least the network) as I said, mines been rock solid for some time, I use the app daily. We do have an Emotiva V3 Remote thread if you’re having trouble and want to dig deeper (that’s here)), but there’s no reason not to discuss it here as well. Link removed, this thread Here’s what a port scan looks like on the RMC-1, using Network analyzer on my iPad, it can do ping and other things as well. There are lots of scanners out there, I picked this years ago and stuck with it. For security iOS limits the information an app can learn on the network (but it’s plenty for this info), if you really want detail a macOS or Windows App will tell you more, again I use LAN Scan on the Mac for that (but lots out there)

See the post above about the one minute rear switch power down, and troubleshooting your NIC communication. Try getting a network scanning App for your Android and see if you can ping and do a port scan on your processor. Also is your firmware current? Older firmware could allow the processor to get ‘busy’ and not service the network port properly. When you’re sure your XMC-2 is communicating, give the App another try, then report back here with Android make, model, OS version, and firmware, I’ll post it as yay or nay to help our compatibility table.

I setup a VLAN for XMC-2 and Dirac use and in the last 2 weeks or so my XMC-2 has been in VRO and hasn't locked up as it would normally have done within 24hrs on my open LAN segment - so clearly its not doing with other multicast traffic or something of the like. Something perhaps for Emotiva to look into. Also noted in the APP that if an input is not vvisible it might appear grey instead of blue on the 8 input buttons - but need to do more testing on this. Also they dont appear as selectable in the iPAD APP in the input list on the left side of the APP...again need more time to see what happens with the visible setting. All in all this app at least works on all my iOS devices unlike only my phone in its original version but I have to use a different wifi setting to access the VLAN it now restricted to.

Seems that the IOS updates knock the XMC-2 Remote out of service. I'm on 14.7.1 and now the remote does not work? Any thoughts on this?

Mine is working as we speak, on both my iPad Pro 11 w/14.7.1 and iPhone X w/14.7.1. What hardware are you using? Could it be a NIC issue on the processor? I’d start with a shutdown and rear switch power off for 1 minute.

where does find the IP based command codes.. there seems to be a download linked on the firmware area on the XMC-2 page but it drops you to the firmware post which doesn't have a link the codes.
im trying to get a home bridge app/plugin written and could do with some network codes please.

The physical remote control codes are the same for the XMC-1, XMC-2, RMC-1, and RMC-1L. (Even though a few of the buttons on the remote do different things on the PROCESSOR - because the processor is programmed to respond differently to them - the physical buttons on the remote controls themselves send the same exact IR codes.)
