Every time I see this thread pop up, I get excited, only to discover Android is not included in the update.... and then I am very sad. So just to clarify, the Android version doesn’t work for everyone? It was reported to work with the XMC-2, but don’t know what Android version and phone hardware. Also to be clear, the V3 iOS version doesn’t do anything the old version didn’t do, it just works with the newer iOS / iPadOS and  Hardware. Edit: We now believe there is an added feature which echos the Menu in iOS V3

Thanks, I've obviously misunderstood the update. Must read more carefully.

For me its hit or miss some times it wont reconize the XMC-2 for a couple days then the next day it will work. Most of the time it dosn't work. Edit on android phone and tablets Mitch

Edit on android phone and tablets Mitch This could possibly be a NIC issue, the same can happen with the iOS version and with Dirac. The NIC doesn’t always reinitialize correctly, power off (rear switch) for a minimum of 60 seconds and see if that helps. Also, I wouldn’t expect to be able to turn the unit on with the App, only to use the remote once the processor is running.

Confirm that is the case for me as well, not the app that dont work but XMC-2 has droppen its connectivity to the network so need to reboot to get up the NIC. When failing NIC leds are off on the rj45 port.

If you have a computer handy and connected to your network... The easiest way to confirm network connectivity is to Ping the processor's IP address from the computer. Ping is a very handy test program specifically designed to test network connections. (It will work for most devices - including our processors - although some firewalls will block it.)
Exactly how you do this varies with different computers... In general you go to a command line, then type "ping", followed by a space, and the IP address of the device you want to check. The Ping program sends several packets to the device, along with instructions to send them back, and verifies the round trip time. Obviously you must substitute the network address of your processor. (You can find that on the Menu Information screen - and you can probably read it from your router).
The return times you see will be longer than on this example... but should not be more than a few milliseconds.
The important number is "Packets Lost = 0 "
On Windows 7 it looks like this:

Awesome advice Kevin, I found that if you want to also ping continously (while you are doing adjustments to changing network cables / changing ports) you can do the following in cmd prompt
"ping ##.##.##.## -t" replacement the ## with your ip address.
This command will Ping the specified host until stopped.

Unfortunately even though I can ping the processor from my tablet which is an Android unit I still I am experiencing issues. Just wondering if anyone from emotiva I can test it out

Go into your router's DHCP settings and give both the processor and the tablet a static IP address. This may help because both the processor and the tablet will always be at the same address. This also eliminates the possibility that a DHCP lockup will stop the devices from communicating.
If you've enabled bridged mode it probably won't work. If you created multiple layers of subnets for security reasons then ensure that both devices are on the same subnet, or static routes to one another have been created in the routing table.

Just wondering if anyone from emotiva I can test it out Go into your router's DHCP settings and give both the processor and the tablet a fixed IP address. This may help. While this is a good suggestion (I give everything on my network a reserved address), I think the issue here is that the Android App has not been updated and is hit and miss on various newer hardware. We can’t seem to get an Emotiva comment regarding an update to the Android App (though a call might help). Edit: antoninus9 That’s an awesome looking midrange horn (and speaker) in your profile, JBL?

Yes, JBL. I haven't experienced the same problems with the Android app. Give me a few days to test it. I'll try to replicate the issues.
Just for reference... I'm running Android 11 on a Google Pixel 3 XL connected to a Netgear Nighthawk AC-1900 (R7000), Firmware V1.0.9.88_10.2.88

now it would be great if the IP stack in the XMC-2 and probably RMC-1 and 1L would not lock the processor up to the point off full power down and wait then on again.

I have been unable to replicate the problems. Sorry.

So I just noticed something that I don’t think the old V1 Remote App did (but I might have just missed it). The Emotiva Remote V3 echos the Menu Screen to the Remote App, this essentially allows you to setup (or make changes) headlessly. I just made some trigger changes from the front porch, of course you can use the app to navigate the menu as well. I hadn’t noticed this ever before, and think the old app couldn’t do this, can anyone confirm that? Either way, it’s a cool feature, echoing the OLED display makes this app very useful and unique.

Actually the Menu Echo I mentioned for iPad works for iPhone too, used it today. It’s a very handy feature for doing remote menu/setup work, and the iPhone version actually has the menu button to get things started. I never saw the echo in the old version, maybe I just missed it, but don’t think so. Go into the iPhone app and hit the menu button to see what I mean. Connectivity wise, mine’s been very stable of late. Edit: To your point, the Apps do generally ‘look’ the same, other than this newly discovered feature, it would be hard to tell them apart just by looking at them.

The menu is definitely available for me on my iPhone with the new app. It is a great feature and very helpful when messing with the settings. Others have commented on its usefulness as well. If you do not see it I would suggest deleting any of the Emotiva Remote apps that you have from your phone and reinstalling the new app.
