Great news...looks like this hopefully should be addressed in the upcoming firmware update: "The next release will have fixes to bass management as well as enhancements for ARC and HDMI. This release is imminent but we currently do not have an exact date." emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1081493/thread

Read through the whole thread.. hmm.. Seems I have 3db increase as I have the subs set to small with them connected to center sub set to mono.
Hmm that’s why I have felt the bass being a bit bloated for a while.. I even changed one of my curves to a flat one.. Still sounded a bit bassy..

Hopefully Emotiva has a solution for this, because right now my RMC-1 has been really stable and this is the only issue with my setup.

Between hopefully fixing this and HDMI fixes I'm hoping for a much better experience with the next firmware update. One of my other big complaints is that every time I start my system up, my TV shows no signal from the XMC-2. I have to either change to another input and then back to input 1 or just turn everything off and back on for it to finally show up. This happens at least 90% of the time if not more. It doesn't sound like there will be any new features at this time unless they just haven't announced them yet. Was also hoping for DLBC but I'd rather things be in working order than new features right now, personally.

Dual display? HTPC involved? DLBC will probably remain a mystery until they surprise us, IMO. BM fix is in our future, things are looking very promising.

My display is a TCL 6 series TV from 2018 I believe. I use HDMI CEC from my Nvidia shield to turn everything on. My setup consists of: Nvidia Shield > Emotiva XMC-2 > TCL tv No other displays or projectors in my setup. I'm not sure if it's because it takes like 6 to 8 seconds for my TV to wake up and switch to the correct input, maybe the XMC doesn't see the TV until it's too late or something, but the fact that it wakes up along with everything else tells me at least that CEC is working so I'm guessing somewhere in the process there is an HDMI handshake or something that is not occurring ( I know very little as to how the HDMI protocol handles all this ).

I think you're right about maybe it's handshake related. A timing situation.

Not for all content, but for some it sure does. Other than being slow I can’t really complain much either. I have no HDMI issues that bother me. Some smaller pops sometimes. Have learned to keep the volume low so it doesn’t bother me much.

The silence from Emotiva is deafening. I'm doing my best not to jump the gun, but the silence is a bit deafening. I felt like we were moving in the right direction, we got an update that there was a fix coming soon, along with a brief on what fixes to expect...and then nothing for over a month...

It probably is coming. Unfortunately without details we are left to interpret what timeframe "coming" is. We establish that timeframe which does not match Emotiva's so we end up being disappointed and make comments like "the silence is deafening" :-) I have learned to temper my expectations with Emotiva. Like the goverment, they move to their own beat and why so many users are disillusioned with them. There is ZERO sense of urgency

There is ZERO sense of urgency Sure it's frustrating, but you really have no idea what their sense of urgency is and what they are doing behind the scenes. All companies move to their own beat and some move much faster due to large resources, Apple comes to mind here. Though Apple has quickly released firmware which has lead to another bug which then leads to another firmware update. They are not immune. You are correct that speculating on what "soon" means without actually knowing just leads to disapointment.

It's been more than two months since I was pumped about the progress being made in alleviating this bug. Now, not so much. I know progress had been made back then and that there were some aspects needing more work, but two months later, nothing on the horizon. I've never been so pessimistic about this since before the bug was acknowledged.

Not good to hear. You were the one positive voice that sort of gave me hope. I think they are working on it, but in emotiva fashion, it will be done when they are ready and no sooner. To hell with any sense of urgency. No one that is an experienced emotiva owner should expect any different or be surprised by this and why its on to another supplier for me. Emotiva loses another customer. Oh well.

I've never been so pessimistic about this since before the bug was acknowledged. That's a bummer...I'm hoping we get some more news in the next couple weeks...at least before Christmas. I was happy to hear that the bug fix was coming soon, but now there's been no further word for over a month. If anything it seems like there's been one step forward, and two steps back, knowing that firmware 2.4 is released but only for new units and not applicable for previous owners.
