Looks really nice and I like the new volume knob but 34% price increase over the PT-100 yikes, I see the new features and such but that seems dramatic.

Excellent! Was waiting for this! My only question now is whether there will be a new higher-end model to follow any time soon…as I wouldn’t to be too happy to learn that I could’ve waited a bit longer for it (a preamp with additional inputs, different DAC, XLR out, etc.). If not, I’m ordering. I currently have an XDA-1 and do miss analog inputs. If I’m not mistaken, the XDA and the PT1 DACs are both based on the same AD1955 chipset and should sound similar (digital to analog out).

Everything is going up in price. Chips, materials, transportation, etc. Still is a good price if sounds good like the PT-100

I've used the XDA-1 for years, XDA-2, PT-100 and the DC-1. The PT-1 if it's anything like the PT-100 will sound better than the XDA-1. The main improvement will be in the treble and a little bit in the midrange. The XDA-1 has a slightly unnatural tone which is "leaner" than it should.

I trust you won’t be getting one as you’ve got all you need for now?

That doesn't mean the Pt-100 sounded bad though. It sounded good If you don't need all the features of the PT-1 I would go for a used DC-1.

The tuner was completely redesigned to be more user friendly. Originally Lonnie designed the tuner to follow the way the tuner works in the XMC-1 but the issue is the BasX unit doesn't have OSD or a multi line display to navigate it.

NOW HEAR THIS
1) The USB input on the PT1 now supports sample rates up to 24/192k (but you will need to install a driver for Windows 10 - although not for Apple computers).
2) You can now tune FM stations, and assign them to presets, directly from the Remote Control...
From the manual:
SPECIAL NOTE: Tuning FM Stations and Setting FM Presets Using the Remote Control
The BasX PT1 and TA1 have a special feature that allows you to directly tune FM stations, and to easily assign stations to FM Presets, using the remote control. This feature is activated when you use the FM BUTTON on the remote control to switch to the Tuner input.
Once you have selected the Tuner Input by pressing the FM BUTTON on the remote control... - Pressing the FM Button repeatedly will sequence through the available FM Presets. - Pressing the Left navigation button will cause the Tuner to seek DOWN to the next station. - Pressing the Right navigation button will cause the Tuner to seek UP to the next station. - Pressing the ENTER button on the remote control will cause the currently tuned station to be saved to the currently selected FM Preset.
Note: THIS FEATURE CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY USING THE REMOTE CONTROL. The Volume control and Mute function on the remote control and the front panel, and the Input buttons on the front panel, will all continue to function normally.

So we got Apt-x, better USB, improved tuner settings. Anything else I missed? Is this worth the extra Benjamin in your opinion? The interesting bit is really the subwoofer management. Now the speakers do not receive a full range signal and is integrated with the sub. I'm not in the market for a PT-1 but I can see where these combined features make for a compelling use case.

True active bass management...
An actual 12 dB/octave low pass filter on the subwoofer output... And an actual 12 dB/octave high pass filter on the high pass main outputs...
This is huge (if you have a use for it). It is also something that a lot of people have asked for over the years.
I would not say that AptX and AAC are a big deal - because I'm not a big fan of Bluetooth anyway... But now it's internal - so you don't need an extra dongle.
And, yes, it looks a bit more modern... A narrower display window and smaller front panel LEDs... (It seems trivial but a few people actually said they didn't like the way the PT-100 looked.)
So we got Apt-x, better USB, improved tuner settings. Anything else I missed?

Easy enough to use the subwoofer's plate crossover to augment the PT-1's internal 90 Hz. one, too. This would roll off your sub at 24dB / octave if you wish. Will work perfectly well (phase-wise) with the internal, second-order 90 Hz. high-pass in the PT-1. Don't want to involve the sub's plate filter? Use the DSP included in Roon or J-River to accomplish the same. OR, if you have the DSP-LF box from Parts-Express, that can work too. Low pass filters are easy to implement, and very helpful in terms of preventing subwoofer ringing from muddying the bass of your satellites. KeithL - Does the PT-1 internally reverse the phase between the main satellite outs and the subwoofer out jack? This wouldn't be critical anyway, and proper phasing between the sub and satellites will be easy to determine in the room. Play a 90 Hz. tone after balancing the satellites & sub by ear. Then measure SPL with a meter or phone app at the listening position. The correct polarity will be the one that provides the higher 90 Hz. SPL. The AptX might be helpful - Watching a YouTube video on my iPad while wirelessly streaming the audio to the PT-1? As for the easier-to-use FM, does anyone listen to radio anymore? I don't and nobody that I know does either. The more important question is "When will my PT-1 arrive?" LOL
