He has a Shiit Fulla attached to his PC already. www.schiit.com/products/fulla-2I currently gave him a spare pair of Emotiva Airmotiv 5s's for his dorm room. That'll still work plugged into the PA-1's via an RCA -> XLR adapter cable. So I think he's good. The AirMotiv 5's are powered monitors, so you wouldn't use PA-1s with them, they're driven directly from a preamp, or source with volume (the Schiit I assume). Yes I know. That's why when he gets the PA-1's (*after* graduation, mind you :-) I'm also giving him a pair of Focal Electra 1027Be speakers to go with the PA-1's. I'll re-gift the Airmotiv's to someone else :-). |

Gee....When I was in College I ASPIRED to a pair of Minimus 7 from Radio Shack which were probably 40$ or so a pair......certainly no more than 50$

I LIKE the idea of powered speakers in a dorm. Minimizes wiring / interconnects But ARE theft Bait......unfortunately.
