As my comment above speculated, you would get the streamer built in to the G4P, no need for a card. I wonder if the streamer, as a standalone unit or built into a G4P, will be able to stream Dolby Atmos tracks via Tidal? That would certainly be a nice feature, but for the standalone unit it would require HDMI, which it doesn’t have. I suppose there could be an internal HDMI equivalent on the G4P, but honestly I’d be surprised. I was playing Atmos tracks from Apple Music on TV for my niece last night. She really enjoyed them, and it was fun to share my music in a format she’d never heard. |

Truth be told streamers are popping up, and mighty tasty options. WIIM just came out with one for about $329.00! It will come down to how you manage your content, Got space for an SSD? Can you manage over network in all your systems. Fun stuff, fun times. I am looking at the Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer right now. Seems to check all the boxes. Including Roon as well. Nothing definite for a bit. Any way you look at it, it's going to fun.

WiiM Ultra came out, and BlueSound 2i price went down to $349. |

Hello friends, my spare phone/streaming source has checked out. I was using an old IPhone to blue tooth stream to my UMC-200. Now I’m in search of a streamer. Since it’s a audio system at work I don’t want to throw a lot of coin at it. There won’t be much critical listening but I do cringe at poor sound like most everyone else here.
I don’t need Roon or any monthly subscriptions as I do have Tidal and would like to utilize other free streaming services.
System consists of the UMC-200, Crown amplifier, BTM-1 Bluetooth Receiver, KEF LS50’s and my analog setup.
Suggestions please, especially if you have one or experience with it or are hunting for similar.
Unfortunately I can’t wait for Christmas. (Rumored Emotiva release) Im starting this rumor! 🥸

If all you want is cheap for work than Wiim Mini is a good idea.
Used smart phone setup just for or tablet maybe if you want the screen for local control.

I remember when they showed the first Music Server at Emofest. I remember the whole Bob Carver Audio, Emotiva Glass thing (Wish I'd bought one of those Black Magic 20s on clearance). I have lots of hope this time. Looks ready to go. We'll see if its priced where I can get it. |

The AKM AK4499EX / AK4191EQ chips, dual power supplies, dual clocks and ability to load fir filters from REW for room correction, among other features make it worth it to me.
Also, very impressed with Eversolo’s ability to design, market and produce their products in reasonable timeframes, months not years, and the DMPA8 SOTA reviews in Stereophile as well as ASR.
