All - ttocs sent me more pix to add to the Google Drive folder. AudioHTIT had requested more pix of the "guts" of the RMC1+ so Scott sent me some to add. Right now, they should show as the first 4 pix...names are "RMC1+ inside1", "RMC1+ inside2", "RMC1+ Prodxn", and "RMC1+ Analog Ins" Also, re. the streamer - tom9933 Who mentioned the card in the RMC1+ for a streamer? Would this be a card for an expansion slot? Or, use the already internal Pi? I'd like to add whatever details you have to the 1st post. Thanks, Mark

I don't remember the first person but I definitely talked to Damon about it when I asked him the question about the multiple network connections. Based on his "thats a good question" response my guess is that card is still to be built... The external streamer looked pretty cool in the 2 channel room.

Why would a high sample rate and room correction be mutually exclusive for Emotiva processors? The mini DSP can do it. So can some other processors. I just don't see any importance for this - for me its just 24/48 and others can up to 24/96 - Is there an evidence, that the measurement and corrections with higher Rates give a better result within Dirac or the processor.
Uptil now, it's not planned to be supported - so why further worry?
The more technical things are implemented the more can go wrong later - for me its not relevant.

The Pi still does Dirac like always, that hasn’t changed. Streaming* means possible for future. That image is from AXPONA and is discussed in that thread. DLBC certification and release are in the hands of Dirac and Emotiva. Sounds like we could use a podcast to clean up post Emofest? There was a Reel today on FB - showing that they plan a Videocast. Maybe on friday,

I posted this on the +Thread. The three Main Board Subwoofer outputs and the Subwoofer Expansion Module will both work with DLBC per Lonnie. "DLBC will work on any sub, whether it is internal or from the expansion board." "Dirac simply looks at how the driver is defined." I'm very happy!

So, based on that - I won't add it to post #1. Once we have some official response, we'll know. For now, the external streamer is looking like it's coming soon. Internal...who knows. Mark

Here are the tentative notes... UPDATE: All processors demo'd were running with the new AK boards.I think they meant 8K boards. Character generation for CC in today's podcast read AK but they said 8K.

I updated the 1st post based on today's podcast. Mark Maybe you mentioned it somewhere in your text:
Its also possible to downgrade - Trade-In values keep their value.
RMC-1L to XMC-2+ would then be 999$ / full 5 yr. warranty / RMC-1 to XMC-2+ would cost 499$
Note: I still don't like the XMC-2 look - so I will probably go for the RMC-1+ and pay that 1499$
Thanks for your effort, Mark Cheers Adrian

The external streamer is actually pretty impressive... and it is getting close to release... I think that the impact this is likely to have has been somewhat exaggerated. The news media are making it sound like "the is the only source of high quality quartz in the world"... The reality is that regular quality quartz is one of the most common minerals on the planet (beach sand is quartz). And low quality quartz can be refined into any quality desired... for a price. So what is really endangered is "the world's biggest supply of easy to extract cheap high quality quartz". We're also talking about a rock that is dug out of big holes in the ground... So the mines themselves really cannot be "destroyed"; at most they may have to be dug out again. And things like destroyed roads can be rebuilt pretty easily... as long as you care enough to throw money at them. So what we're REALLY looking at here is an excuse to raise prices on one part of the manufacturing process.

I'm pretty sure you are correct on possibility of downgrading. I heard of a few saying they were thinking of going RMC1L or RMC1 to XMC2+ Mark

Any news at Emofest about "big" stereo preamp?
We all focus on HT but don't forget about next gen of XSP

He said that current RMC-1 owners could trade their unit for a brand new XMC-2+ and their cost would be "500 bucks" ($499). So following that logic, the cost to RMC-1L owners who would prefer an XMC-2+ would be $999.

So following that logic, the cost to RMC-1L owners who would prefer an XMC-2+ would be $999.If I see this correctly - RMC-1L owners will get an RMC-1L+ style update to the innards of the XMC-2+ with the same form factor as before. The compromise is esthetic - front panel function, and back panel 'gold thingies'. Upgrade/trade-in cost went from $699 to $999; but includes a 5 year warranty, and a smooth trade-in transition. I'll bite the bullet and trade-in for the RMC-1+. Total cost for my old RMC-1L (with military discount) and the new RMC-1+ will be $5.6K. (Or less if the military discount applies to the Trade-in). Still less than an AV10. I made room in my wire rack for the RMC-1+ 6 months ago. Emotiva - Make the speaker and Sub output modules. Please. All I desire is the Sub output module. The rest will serve more than I need. Edit - I like the Tiffany 'gold thingies'.

No details or timeline but I was told that there will be a new "big" preamp that they've been working for some time now.
