I'm working my way through all 4 seasons of the Battlestar Galactica series on Blu Ray. I never watched it when it was originally broadcast and I'm really enjoying it now.
I cheated and watched the last three episodes first..then I started from the first episode and I'm going through them one at a time. I'm almost finished with season 2 now..one more episode to go. When I get to those last three episodes again, I will get to enjoy them all over again, but this time I'll understand far more of what is all happening and why.
It's an exceptionally well written story line and the blu ray is fantastic..both visually and sound wise.

There are certain movies where the difference between standard DVD and blu ray is non existent for the consumer. I bought Hoosiers on blu ray...that was a waste of money. I already had it on regular DVD, and the blu ray is no better in sound or picture.
Now, the Battlestar Galactica series is another thing altogether. The producers really outdid themselves on the quality of the blu ray release.

just saw this film last night ratherwife was the one who rented it, and we've had it for more than a month. She described it to me and I honestly thought it sounded boring. Yeah, Sean Penn directed, but so what? So it stayed on the shelf until last night when I caved on an agreed to see it. I was very tired so I thought I could nod off while ratherwife saw her movie. I was pulled into this movie after about 20 minutes, and I watched the entire 148 minutes. I am quite sure there will be many who think this is/was a stupid movie, and I have no problem with that. If you movies need special effects, explosions, alien robots, or men who scream, this is not for you. A superb film, and I was caught off guard by the end credits.

Just watched Days of Thunder SD DVD. Crappy vid quality, but man it was good to knock the dust off of it and throw it in there. Great flick!

yeah Rather, I too wasn't sure about Into the Wild, but netflixed and was drawn in completely. An emotionally charged ending and the pictures from the end credits were a shock.

Abolutely loved into the wil, great flick about living life outside of the box. I recently watch a PBS documentary on that movie and it was totally worth the watch. Today I watched Gus Van Sant's "Drugstore Cowboy" with Matt Dillon and Heather Graham. I love this film, it is about a young group of junkies that rob drugstores in hope of the next big score. Full of tragedy and has the writer William S. Burroughs as an actor no less. Suggested for people that liked Blow, Requiem for a Dream, Last Days etc...

Also loved this movie.Great audio when guitars come in for Eddie Vedders' version of 'Hard Son'. Good story also, went and researched it the next day.

Watched "Salt" with my girlfriend Well if we wouldn't finish pitcher of beer before (in local "St. Louis Bar & Grill") we probably didn't stay to the end of movie. Angelina Jolie was great but story is complete junk So, I don't recommend it to anyone

I don't go much to the Cinema Theater anymore (unless IMAX), and I must have watched two or three DVDs in the last couple years. ...I also gave up on VHS a while back. ...So that's why I started a dedicated thread for only Home Blu-ray movies' watching.

Over the last week or so I've seen the following at the Theater:
The Expendables -> It was Ok, was expecting a bit more, Probably will pick up on BD.
The Switch -> Again it was Ok, had some funny and touching parts, Probably won't get on BD.
Salt -> I didn't really want to see it, but we were out of town while my wife got LASIK surgery and I was bored. I'd say it was Ok too, may netflix it at some point.

Yesterday watched "The Town" Great story and very good movie! Was enjoyable from beginning to the end, and after the end we was sitting few minuets speechless (which doesn't happen very often). I can recommend "The Town" to anyone who loves movies that make you think

" Citizen X", starring Steven Rea & Donald Sutherland. Based on a true story of Russias' most infamous serial killer (52 victims). Astonishing portrayal of life in Russia from 1982 thru 1990s.
