ah crap....That *bleep* waitress added an extra $10 to my bill at the bunganut pig....GRRRR Its not like i didnt tip her either, i gave her 20%...to bad i did not keep that receipt otherwise they would be getting a call... Was it 6 or more people? Some places automatically add the tip with a larger party. Sorry to hear about the double tip situation. Doug

You know, as far as the extra gratuity for a larger party, I was a waiter for ten years, and never did that once. I'd just say, 'By the way, no gratuity is added for the party. I hope you had a great time.' I always got taken care of.

That happens here in L.A. allot, though for the most part a sign is posted that a 15 percent gratuity is added to the bill for large parties. I went to one place of which I have never been back since that after we gave a healthy 30% tip, the waiter chased after us in the parking lot saying he didn't get enough tip to cover the Bartender. We each pitched in five bucks and sent this waiter off, and agreed never to go back there again. So I know about bad tipping situations too well. I like Dann's idea and statement," 'By the way, no gratuity is added for the party. I hope you had a great time.' I always got taken care of. " But at least in L.A. I always add up my bill before paying just in case of "unhappy" tipping practices.

My tab was right on...I think...I mean its not like I was counting the number of beers...actually...I got my tab and was like "Holy crap! That's all for the amount of beer I consumed?" I was ordering 2 at a time for a while and expected the bill to be much higher.

Are you sure you did the math? The whole weekend turned into somewhat of a haze there for a while!

I'll bet there was some Miller Lites on that bill. Sold two at a time. ;D I haven't bothered looking at any of the charges from the weekend. At this point it's just too late. The only one that matter is the hotel, anyway. As long as they didn't overcharge.

Oh and of course. . .that time of year. . .are you going to the fall festival? My wife is thinking about making me and the kiddo drive down in a few weeks to visit the fam and munch on some Acropolis, Pronto Pups and maybe even the Edgewater.
