You are the best party throwers ever, everything was just PERFECT!!! The food (Dave you rock), the entertainment, and the audio set up was fantastic!!! I have never seen so many happy people in one place. A quick shout out to my party animals - Doug, BigRed, and Judd we need to get together before the big event next year. You guys were a blast!!! So that what's it's like to hang out with "boys." I now declare women are boring! It was nice seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I hope everyone on the Forum can make it to this wonderful event next year. I was glad to see folks brought their families. It's all about having a good time. (right Doug, Steve and Judd)

I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this, especially since I live in Nashville. As a potential Emotiva customer, it was truly a wasted opportunity. Oh well...

Looks like Emofest was big success. I was with some family on Tablerock Lake in MO. Good times and we bought a timeshare that has places to stay in Nashville and some other Tennessee location. Maybe next year I can confince the wife to do our Labor Day vacation in Tennessee. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I disappear for a day.

What gear are you looking to add to your system? What ever you are considering, this forum is a good place to learn more about the pieces you are interested in. Be sure to visit Emotiva's primary web site... it is a wealth of information. Welcome to the Emotiva Lounge. I'm an old AV123 customer who owns Rocket 750s (main home theater), Rocket Tykes (children's playroom + kitchen area) and ELT525 Towers (living room/2 channel). I've been active in their forum (now reopened) for a number of years using this username. I'm also semi-active on AVSForum. I first heard the original Emotiva pre-amps and amps (DMC-1/MPS-1) at one of their GTG's in Colorado many years ago. I actually ran into one of Emotiva's amp engineers in Granny White park a couple of years ago where both of our kids were playing (although for the life of me I can't remember his name). Here's my current problem. Only one of my home theater environments is currently working. The main home theater is powered by a Denon 3805 receiver with a Parasound HCA-2200 amp (w/ John Curl mods) powering the front two channels. The children's room/kitchen was powered by a Denon 1705 until it burnt out in a shower of sparks recently. The story behind that failure is a long one but the Denon 1705 is probably the worst product I've ever seen them make (I went through three of them and two repairs of the last one during the warranty period). And the living room 2 channel area was being run by an old Sony 30ES I got from a friend who upgraded. Alas, the power supply of that thing gave up the ghost 5 months ago (it was expected to go). What I've always wanted to do was make the two channel area a real one with nice clean power with a setup I could afford. My plan was to move the Parasound amp from the home theater to power whatever I chose as a pre-amp. Originally I had thought about moving the Denon 3805 over with it since it makes a nice pre-amp stage, but with the demise of the 1705 last week, I've had to rethink that. I'd love to upgrade the 3805 with a modern HDMI/BluRay codec receiver (and eventually a new 5/7 channel amp behind it) but budget won't allow that right now. I've always had Emotiva in the back of my mind for an amp for my home theater system, but with the release of the USP-1, I'm thinking this might be the opportunity to complete the two channel room at a price point I could stand. The USP-1 has many features I'm looking for, including a phono stage, bass management (although I have no sub for that room yet) and that great price. The Secrets review didn't hurt either. And the Parasound amp can easily be moved for all the power my ELTs would ever want. One problem would be that virtually all of the music in my house is delivered via an iTunes Library server in my basement to Apple Airport Expresses (all of my music for the house is ripped from CDs in Apple Lossless, mobile music for iPods/iPhones is reripped at 256K AAC). The Airport Express can deliver analog output but it admittedly doesn't have the best D/A circuitry (which is why I was originally thinking of the Denon 3805 in this application fed through Toslink). I could look past that limitation and just get a better DAC at a later date. The rest of my library is on SACD and I have a old Oppo 970 that I will press into service for that once I get a new pre-amp. If I pull the trigger on that, then my attention would turn to the other problem. I can solve it by either getting an inexpensive receiver for the Tykes (I'm driving 3 channels right now) or move the 3805 over to that duty and replace it with a better receiver. The latter scenario is preferred but I'd need to spend at least $800-$1500 to get something comparable to the 3805 for the main theater and money is tight right now. I wouldn't mind scheduling an audition sometime at Emo's offices in Franklin. I think I know where it is approximately (I live just to the north in Bellevue). I may have time as early as this coming Friday.

When you do audition you better have your credit card handy! You'll love what you hear. And with the 30 day return policy how can you go wrong? Have fun. You won't believe how well you're treated regardless if you buy or not.
